That's it from the coverage of this game. We will be back tomorrow with more cricketing actions across the globe and across formats in our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Matthew Short | Player of the Match: "Massive win, we needed it. It's been a tough season but the fans still rock up and it was nice to provide them with the W today. Last couple of days we have had the talk to come out and express themselves.

Massive for our bowling unit to turn things around today and perform brilliantly. They are a quality side and it's always a challenge to face them but we stuck to our plans and executed what we have spoken about through the season.

I don't feel extra pressure with the bat, just calling out the bowling options out there in the field, it's been a good experience. We love batting together here and Lynn is an experienced player, it was amazing but credit to the bowlers for the way they performed."
Player of the Match: Matthew Short.
4:36 PM IST, 9:36 PM Local Time: A comprehensive win for the Adelaide Strikers as they outplay the Perth Scorchers here at the Adelaide Oval by 9 wickets with 3.5 overs to spare. They keep their hopes alive in the competition and climb upwards in the points table. They are now upto 6th in the points table.

Chasing a target of 154 for the win, the Strikers came out all guns blazing as Matthew Short and D'Arcy Short were unbelievable at the start. The openers put on 58 runs for the first wicket before D'Arcy fell for 24 off 13 balls. But skipper Matthew Short carried on his merry ways with his unbeaten 76* off 51 balls. He was ably supported by Chris Lynn who was unbeaten on 50* off 33 balls as the duo shared an unbroken stand of 96* for the second wicket. They got to the target in 16.1 overs with 4 extras given by the fielding side.

Only one wicket to fall today and that was taken by Lance Morris who finished with 1/25 in 3 overs. The rest of the bowlers were wicketless and went for runs as well. It was an off day for the Perth Scorchers.

Earlier in the game, Perth Scorchers were asked to bat first by Adelaide Strikers. The Scorchers lost their openers early. Skipper Aaron Hardie scored 35 off 27 balls while keeper batter Josh Inglis scored 39 off 25 balls. Laurie Evans scored 29 off 21 balls while Cooper Connolly scored 23 off 24 balls. Nobody went on with the innings as the Scorchers ended with a below par score of 153/7 in 20 overs. 7 extras were given by the fielding side.

From the Adelaide Strikers' bowling point of view, David Payne and Lloyd Pope picked up a couple of wickets apiece between them. A wicket apiece for skipper Matthew Short, Henry Thornton, and Cameron Boyce as well. Jamie Overton went wicketless. All in all, a disciplined bowling performance from the Strikers today.

So, the Strikers win by 9 wickets with 23 balls to spare to climb upto 6th in the points table. Stick around to see who won the Player of the Match and what he has to say.
