That's all from the 1st T20I encounter between England Women and Pakistan Women.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Saptak Sanyal who, along with scorer/analysts Bishal Mandal brought all the actions of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.

Heather Knight (England Women Captain)- "The scoreboard was not in the favour of us initially but we fought back well. Special mention to Danielle Gibson for her cameo. Our batting has been superb today.

I think we have batters till the lower order and that is one of our strengths. I loved the intent from our batters. I think the wicket changed a lot as the game progressed and our batters did well to clear the 75 meter boundaries.

I loved the way our spinners bowled, they are world class. They sticked to their strength and helped each other. That was nice to see. Amy behind the stumps was unbelievable. She took four catches and was brilliant with the bat too. Lovely performance on the day of her 100th cap!"
Nida Dar (Pakistan Women Captain)- "We started really well in the powerplay with bat and ball but we failed to continue. We had a huge opportunity today but I think we need to do well in the next game.

We had a few lapses in the fielding and that's why lost the game. Bowling is our strength. We rely a lot on our spinners and pacers. Our batters batted really well in the powerplay."
Amy Jones (Player of the Match)- "It has been a pretty good day for me. I am happy to contribute for my team. It is a huge honour to represent England and I feel fortunate to perform in this game.

The game was definitely challenging and the credit goes to our bowlers for hitting the right areas. We did well with the bat to put runs on the board. We got a good total on the board. It was a nice feeling to take four catches behind the stumps.

Our bowlers have been terrific so far. The way they bowled in the middle overs was commendable."

Time for the post-match presentations.
Sarah Glenn finished with an impressive bowling figure of 4/12 today. This is her best bowling figure in WT20I surpassing her previous best of 4/23 vs India Women back in 2022.
Amy Jones took 4 catches in this innings. This is the highest number of catch taken by an English wicketkeeper in an innings in Women's T20I. What an achievement in her 100th WT20I game.
22:10 IST and 17:40 Local Time | England Women have comfortably defeated Pakistan Women by 53 runs and lead the T20I Series 1-0.

After lost the toss and put into bat, England did not start off their Innings in a good note. They were down to 11/4 inside the 3rd over and were in a spot of bother. Since then, the Captain Heather Knight along with Amy Jones built up a partnership of 67 runs partnership to steady the ship for the home side. Heather Knight got out at 49 against the run off play and it was a great opportunity for Pakistan to fightback into the game. Post the wicket of the England Captain, Pakistan bowled really poor and leaked a lot of unnecessary runs in the fag end of the 1st Innings as England recovered brilliantly all thanks to the brilliant Innings from Danielle Gibson (41* off 21 balls) to finish off the Innings for England as they ended up at 163/6 in their 20 overs. Waheeda Akhtar (2/20) and Sadia Iqbal (2/30) were the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan. Pakistan Women had to chase down 164 runs to win the 1st T20I against England Women.

In reply, Pakistan got off to a flying start in the powerplay as they got 57 off their 6 overs losing their two openers. 107 runs were needed off 84 balls with 8 wickets in hand and all Pakistan needed were a decent partnership to keep themselves going in the chase. Then came the massive collapse of Pakistan once again as from 66/2 they have been bundled out for 110. Some top class fielding effort from England, led by their Wicket Keeper, Amy Jones who was involved in 4 dismissals in the Innings. Sarah Glenn (4/12) and Lauren Bell (3/22) were the pick of the bowlers for England.

Pakistan have themselves to blame and they haven’t learnt from their previous series loss at home against West Indies. They have lost the 1st T20I against England Women here by 5 runs and trail the 3 match series by 1-0.

That's the end of the game!!!!!! Lauren Bell gets her third wicket and wraps up the Pakistan innings with the visitors 54 runs short of the target.
18.2 L Bell to S Iqbal
W WICKET! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! That's the end of the game. A convincing win for England in the end by 53 runs as the hosts go 1-0 up in the 3-match series. Over the wicket. Short of a length banged into the surface, Sadia looks to go big and flat bats it straight up in the air. Kemp calls for the catch at backward point and takes the catch. Sadia Iqbal is the last batter out for 8 as Pakistan have been bowled out for 110 in 18.2 overs to lose the game.
18.1 L Bell to F Sana
1 Good length around off, Sana pushes it to the cover region for a single.
55 needed from the final two overs.
Sophie Ecclestone finishes with 1 for 17.
