Pakistan came back to the winnings ways, while Bangladesh have more to digest as they have been officially knocked out of the tournament. We have a banger of a game coming our way tomorrow from Pune as New Zealand and South Africa clash against each other.

For now, this is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this enthralling game of cricket. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers!
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Yes, thank god. I think all credit goes to the boys. Everything clicked for us today.

Yes, we all know that when Fakhar Zaman plays and plays for 20-30 overs, then it will be a different ball game.

Yes, we are trying to win the next 2-3 games, and we will check where we sit and will look forward to the rest. This win hopefully gives confidence in the coming matches.

Yes, we started well. The way Shaheen took the first two wickets, we got a good start. They built a good partnership till around 20 overs, but we came back well with the ball in the middle overs. The main bowlers struck. They kept good lines and lengths.

Thanks for coming here and supporting me and my team. Thank you."
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "Yes. Not enough runs. The wicket was very good and we lost early wickets. There were partnerships but not big partnerships where we could go hard in the last 10 overs. Disappointing but the credit goes to Pakistan for the way they bowled and batted in the first 10 overs.

Well, we have to think about that. We are not getting enough runs from the top four batters. We can discuss it. But at this moment, changing too many things will not help us. We have to take some decisions to change the performance.

We have to perform together. It's not an individual who can win games. We need a collective effort and there are two games. We have to play well and hopefully, we will win.

The fans have been brilliant. They have come out in numbers each time we play and they are biggest supporters of ours. We have to perform well and give them something to smile."

Fakhar Zaman (Player of the Match): "Exactly. After the Asia Cup, I practiced a lot. I was feeling good in the camp and I was looking forward to scoring runs for my team. But it is cricket. I got a chance today and am happy with my performance today.

I was talking with Abdullah that I will see off the first four overs. Doesn't mind how the wicket will play after that, I will play my strokes. My role has always been to make batting easy for my partner.

Exactly. It was there in our mind and we tried to finish the game quickly in 30 overs after we got to 100.

After too many failures, it was important to score. In the first 30 runs, I was a bit tentative but after I got set, I started playing my strokes. Hopefully, I'll keep scoring for the team"

8:35 PM IST and Local Time: Pakistan thrash Bangladesh in the Derby and knock the Tigers out of the tournament! A clinical bowling performance followed by a brilliant batting approach see the Babar Azam-led side earn a much-needed two points to stay alive in the competition!

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat as Shakib Al Hasan wanted to exploit the dryness of the surface in the second half of the match. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf dismantled the top order of Bangladesh, reducing them to 23/3 in 6 overs.

Litton Das and Mahmudullah, who was promoted to number 5, rebuilt the innings with a partnership of 79 runs before Iftikhar Ahmed got rid of Litton from a nothing delivery in the 21st over. Mahmudullah continued his good form and amassed yet another World Cup fifty.

Skipper Shakib struggled during his stay, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz did show a bit of fight, with the wickets falling at regular intervals as Bangladesh’s innings were folded on 204 in 45.1 overs.

Shaheen was fantastic with his figures of 9-1-23-3 and completed 100 ODI wickets in the process. Mohammad Wasim Jr was lethal, exploiting the reverse swing and cleaning up the tail, finishing with figures of 8.1-1-31-3. Haris Rauf (8-0-36-2) picked two wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed and Usama Mir scalped a wicket each.

Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman batted ultra positively and spanked the Bangla bowlers left, right and centre, adding an excellent partnership of 128 runs for the first wicket. Both hit magnificent half-centuries and an array of glorious strokes. While Shafique (68 off 69) hit cracking boundaries, Fakhar (81 off 74) clobbered plenty of lusty blows in the crowd.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (9-0-60-3) gave Bangladesh something to cheer about, getting three wickets which came a little too late for their liking. He removed both the set openers as well as the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam cheaply, which was Mehidy's 100th ODI wicket

Mohammad Rizwan (26 off 21) and Iftikhar Ahmed (17 off 15) finished things off as soon as they could and closed out the chase with more than 17 overs and 7 wickets remaining!

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
