After winning the toss, Hampshire Hawks requested Worcestershire Rapids bat first. Rapids' innings got off to a terrible start as they dealt with a major collapse at the outset and were in trouble at 29/6 in the eighth over. The only batter to reach double digits among those six wickets was Mitchell Santner, while Jack Haynes and Adam Hose both failed to score runs..
Beginning the rescue effort for the Rapids, Ed Pollock and Usama Mir played responsibly, cautiously handling the challenging circumstances, and forging a partnership. The two began scoring quickly after a few overs of prudent play, and they eventually formed a 50-run stand for the seventh wicket.
When it came to bowling, Hampshire's bowlers were on the mark with the ball tonight and seldom made a mistake. For Hawks, Nathan Ellis excelled with the ball, taking 4 wickets while only allowing 6 runs in 2.5 overs. James Fuller and Benny Howell each contributed one wicket to Rapids' demise, while Chris Wood and John Turner each took two wickets.
