That's all from todays encounter from MLC 2023. I Harsh Shukla on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Prince Suman and Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer respectively would like to thank you all for being with us whole throughout the coverage of the match. We will take leave....stay safe and stay happy.

There is another encounter coming up from MLC starting in a while. Stay Tuned....
Moises Henriques( Washington Freedom Captain): "30 off the 40 overs we went according to plan. With the way Shorty got us going, we might have scored an additional 10–15 runs. The way they batted in their last 5 overs was opposite to us. He and Shorty were the only ones that find timing; the others were unable to do it. From a captaincy standpoint, we could have looked at a few more choices and conducted the mission more effectively."

Faf Du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "If you look out it was not easy to bat on the pitch like that. Matthew Short in the first inning batted exceptionally well on the pitch like that and in the end, Bravo batted unbelievably well. The No- Ball I will look back and would like to correct it because with it you give an extra delivery to the batter. We didn't bat well in the powerplay overs. He(Coetzee) got hit on his left arm, was looking a bit uncomfortable initially but now looks fine. Physios are checking him and will keep him under observation."
Matthew Short (Player of the match): "Not quite, my game plan in the first game was to attack, and the plan in today's game was to attack in the powerplay and take the gears down a bit in the middle overs, it worked for me. It was nice, the new ball came on pretty well, and the spinners bowled pretty well through the middle. Yeah, I think it was a slower side but it's nice to win in the end."
Power Hitter of the match: DJ Bravo (106 m).
Player of the day: Glenn Phillips.
Akeal Hosein: "I think there was a bit of favorable for a spin and a good surface wicket and the spot is well. It is a short tournament like you wanna take momentum into the next game. So, I'm pretty happy to cross the line at the end. He is a champion, in bat, ball, and field and he showed today. I think it is learning as quickly as possible. New surface, new friend and sometime you come up against new player so, try to learn quickly as soon as possible."
5:42 AM IST, 7:12 PM Local Time: The DJ, The Champion gave his all but still didn't win the match for his team as Washington Freedom beats Texas Super Kings in a thrilling match by 6 runs.

After a display of terrific death bowling and restricting the Washinton freedom to under 165. Texas Super Kings batting line-up tumbled up. The start wasn't good as they lost the wicket of in-form Devon Conway in the first over courtesy of Marco Jansen's perfect in-swinger. Super Kings lost both of the openers in Powerplay. Du Plessis walked back to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs. The middle order totally got exposed as they lost three batters under 29 runs.

Akeal Hosein bowling the 9th over struck twice in the over and sent the Super Kings to the back foot. The partnership came between Bravo and Santner of 38 runs for the 6th wicket. Soon Santner got out to Skipper Henriques scoring 22 runs. After that it was all about DJ The Champion Bravo's performance who entertained all till the end of the match. His partnership with Savage of 47 runs lightened up the hope for Super Kings. He ended his inning scoring 76 runs in 39 deliveries comprising 6 sixes and 5 fours.

For Washington Freedom, the all-around performance by the bowlers took their team to the winning side. The Bravo storm didn't spare anyone but it was a little too late for Super Kings. Marco Janses and Akeal Hosein both the bowlers took 2-2 wickets each. After winning the toss and electing to bat first Washington Freedon put up a decent total of 164 on the board. It was the inning of Matthew Short that took the team to a good total. The terrific bowling performance by Super Kings in the slog overs was appreciatable. They didn't give many runs and struck wickets at regular intervals of the game.

In the end, it was Washington Freedom who got their first win of the tournament which they were searching for. Bravo's storm did come in the match but it was too late for Super Kings as they lost the match by 6 runs.
Deepak: Yeah, Harsh, DJ never disappoints his fans, and we were lucky to witness his blasting knock in this clash. He fought valiantly and fought like a champion but didn't get any support from the other players.
