So, this marks the end of our coverage of the exhilarating encounter between Barbados Royals Women and Guyana Amazon Warriors Women in the grand finale of the WCPL 2023.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu(For the 1st innings) and Deepak Prakash(for the 2nd innings) and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stay safe and keep CREXing for coverage of more cricketing action around the world. Bye-bye.
Hayley Kristen Matthews is invited to collect the trophy now and the celebration begins. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
Hayley Kristen Matthews (Barbados Royals Women Captain): "Yeah, I mean, the girls really came out today. We were pretty fired up at the beginning of the day, like I said before, obviously looking for some redemption after losing last year. So just really pleased with the team's performance. I think the girls stepped out where they really mattered and yeah, thankfully, we ended with the trophy in our hands at the end of the day.

Obviously, she's [Devine] been fantastic the whole tournament testament to her being the player of the tournament. So, yeah, just quite happy that we were able to get her early, but still a close game.

Yeah, I think we got the chance to play again inside of Barbados this year, and I think we could just dedicate this one to them. I think their energy while we were playing in Barbados really helped us to go there and win those three games over there and get to the finals early."

Now, it's time for Barbados Royals Women's player to collect their medals.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors Women players and support staff are getting their medals.
Stafanie Taylor(Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain)- "It was a fantastic tournament. Everything was really good, the cricket we played was fantastic, all the games were exceptional and then hopefully we will do better next year."
Sophie Devine (Player of the Tournament): "Firstly, just big congratulations to Hayley and the Royals. I thought it was a fantastic game of cricket. It was really, I guess, worthy of a final, so it's disappointing for us, but I've thoroughly enjoyed my time over here in the Caribbean."
Hayley Kristen Matthews(Man of the Match)- "The team played very good cricket. I knew that if I stay a bit in the innings, we can easily put enough runs on the board."
Best Celebration- Qiana Joseph

Highest Wicket-taker of the competition- Shreyanka Patil

Player of the final match- Hayley Kristen Matthews

Player of the tournament- Sophie Devine

Jannillea Glasgow- " I am feeling really lucky and hopefully I will win the trophy next year too. I enjoyed that we played as a group from the start to the end. We as a team and enjoyed the tournament thoroughly and thanks to our captain for backing the players so well."
Erin Burns: "It's amazing. Like, the crowds come in for the end. It's such an awesome atmosphere. And to win my first time in this in the Caribbean League was unbelievable. The girls really all put in some good performances across the board, but to finish it off like that was pretty special. Yeah, I think when  Bates put on a punch for the Campbelle, they were looking pretty solid through the middle, but we hung in with there. We knew that we could come and take a couple of wickets and put some pressure on that middle order that was in with a shot and runs on the board in the final is always tough."
Amanda-Jade Wellington: "Amazing. This group is something else and an amazing performance in front of this crowd.  It doesn't really compare, really. It's pretty different to competitions, but the feeling of winning with these girls is incredible.

It's amazing. I'll what point in time you felt you had the better of this opposition, the warriors in this final? To be honest, when I followed my over, I was like, oh, yeah, Hayley has got this. And then when Ismail hit a six and a four, I was getting a little bit worried.

At the end of the day, cricket is just a game and there's more to life. But when I'm out here on the field, I just enjoy and try to be who I am off the field. Just getting picked up from the Royals. To be a part of the Royals family is pretty special and I've loved every minute of it."
04:28 IST and 18:58 Local Time | In the thrilling Women's Caribbean Premier League 2023 final, the Barbados Royals Women clinched their maiden title with a hard-fought victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The match was filled with exhilarating moments, showcasing the true spirit of T20 cricket.

The Barbados Royals Women were put into bat first by the Guyana Amazon Warriors, and they made an impressive start. Gaby Lewis and the skipper Hayley Kristen Matthews set the tone in the powerplay, with Lewis contributing a quickfire 21 runs. However, the standout partnership of the innings came from Matthews and Rashada Williams, who combined forces to produce a remarkable 108-run partnership. Matthews continued her onslaught, eventually scoring an exceptional 82 runs before being dismissed by Shabnim Ismail. Unfortunately, the middle-order batters failed to provide the necessary support, and the Royals finished their innings with a total of 169 runs on the board. Shabnim Ismail was the pick of the bowlers for the Guyana Amazon Warriors, taking four crucial wickets.

Chasing the target, the Guyana Amazon Warriors got off to a solid start with Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates. Devine's aggressive style contributed 22 runs, but a quick succession of wickets, including the captain Stafanie Taylor for just 4 runs, put them under pressure. However, Sophie Devine anchored the innings well with her run-a-ball 36. Later, Shemaine Campbelle and Natasha McLean displayed resilience, but McLean's 28 off 17 balls was not enough to see them through. With 23 runs needed off the last couple of overs, the Guyana batters faltered, and Amanda-Jade Wellington took two crucial wickets, setting up a nail-biting final over.

In the final over, Shabnim Ismail gave it her all, smashing a four and a six, but her dismissal on the fourth ball left the Guyana Amazon Warriors needing an improbable 10 runs from 2 balls, which they ultimately failed to achieve. Amanda-Jade Wellington was the hero for the Barbados Royals Women, claiming four important wickets, while Hayley Kristen Matthews also contributed with two wickets. Shemaine Campbelle remained not out on 47.

Overall, it was a pulsating final that showcased the ups and downs of T20 cricket. The Barbados Royals Women's maiden title win will be remembered as a result of their excellent batting performance and Amanda-Jade Wellington's crucial contributions with the ball. The Guyana Amazon Warriors fought valiantly but fell just short in their pursuit of the target.

This final will surely be etched in the memories of cricket fans as a thrilling contest between two competitive teams.
