That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter of the first match of the 2-match test series between Bangladesh and New Zealand. A historic win for Bangladesh as they triumphed over New Zealand, securing a 1-0 lead in the series.

Join us for the thrill of cricket around the world. Signing off, Hitesh Peddurwar with co-commentator Deepak Prakash and the insightful Dushyant Kumar. Until our next encounter, stay safe and revel in the game!
Deepak: Bangladesh have added 12 crucial points to their WTC 2023-25 cycle tally after winning this historic Test.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain): "I think credit goes to all the players, especially Taijul, Nayeem, Shoriful and Miraz, who bowled very well and I am very happy.

As you said, everyone enjoyed this match and we are not thinking about the result, we just follow the process. As a young player, this is our opportunity to do something for our team. So everyone is very happy to win this match, and of course, it gives you that confidence to go into the second one.

For me, I think fast innings, we could have scored 50 to 80 runs more. But still, as I said, the bowlers did a great job.
So probably next match, if the batsmen take more responsibility, it will help us, our team to win.

Now I'm thinking of the next Test. For me, half the job is done. Still, a long way to go."

Taijul Islam(Player of the Match): "I am very pleased to represent my country and it lifts my spirits when I take the 10 wickets for the country. It's a team game, so if all the players of the team do well, then the results will surely be in our way. The confidence is important, winning the first game in the series gives us a confidence while going into the second game."
Player of the Match: Taijul Islam
Tim Southee (New Zealand Captain): "Yeah, very disappointing. But I think credit to Bangladesh, they played well, they were very good side in these conditions. So, yeah, I think as a bowling group, you probably need to create a lot more pressure from both ends for longer periods of time.

And then as a batting group, you just want partnerships, bigger partnerships. You saw once the guys got in Kane was able to get in and play nicely. Daryl contributed some lovely little innings there as well, so I think it's just about being a bit better.

It was a pretty good wicket, so, yeah, obviously took a bit of spin, which you expect in this part of the world, but it was all in all, a pretty good surface.

Yeah, it is, I guess, to decide you got a couple of days to work on a few things and come back in another test match in a few days in Dhaka, which will be a different surface again. So we've got to get heads around that and we'll reflect on this and try and be better in the next camp.

Yeah, I think everyone's striving to always improve their game and get better, and that's what you can ask the guys, is to keep looking at ways to improve."

10:40 AM IST, 11:10 AM Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation.
Deepak: Shanto became the fourth player after Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Litton Das to win the debut Test match as a captain. After covering this Test match for all five days, I am very impressed with the captaincy of Shanto. He rotated the bowlers very well and put pressure on the Black Caps. Anchored his side from a dire situation and notched up his ton on his captaincy debut.
10:30 IST & 11:30 Local Time| That's it! The history has been created by Bangladesh. This is the first time that they have beaten New Zealand in test cricket at home. On Day 5, New Zealand, starting at 113/7, faced a challenging task on the final day. Daryl Mitchell and Ish Sodhi displayed resilience in the first hour, with Mitchell reaching fifty.
