That will wrap up our coverage of this game. Thank you staying with us for all the rain updates and the 25.3 overs of live action that we brought to you. Both these teams will be back in action on Saturday and make sure you join us then.

Until next time, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorers/analysts Ashok Dayma and Bishal Mandal. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
10:31 PM IST, 4:00 PM Local Time: The news coming from the Junction Oval in Melbourne is that the match has been abandoned for the day. So, rain has the final say in the proceedings. Credit to the ground staff for giving us this much cricket amidst the rain, but the nature has its final say.

Australia will be disappointed that the game got abandoned as they had a golden chance to get a 2-0 lead but they will get a chance again on Saturday at the same venue. West Indies dodges a bullet as they were certain to lose this. Only 25.3 overs were possible today. Rain saves them the blushes for now. Australia Women takes a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series going into the final game.
10:18 AM IST, 15:48 Local Time: That will be the end of West Indies innings. The rain has forced the end of the West Indies' innings at 107/8 in 25.3 overs.

Australia Women won the toss and invited West Indies Women to bat first in a rain-curtailed 29-over match. Hayley Matthews and Rashada Williams spearheaded the innings for West Indies, and the duo provided a decent start to the visitors, scoring at a decent rate. However, they failed to carry the momentum and departed for 21 and 23 runs, respectively.

Following the wicket of openers, the Women in Maroon triggered a collapse, losing wickets at regular intervals and reeling at 81/7 in the 20th over. Alana King and the birthday girl, Annabel Sutherland, were the bowlers who wreaked havoc with the ball, taking three wickets each and putting the visitors in deep waters.

Aaliyah Alleyne, the sole warrior for the visiting team, valiantly defended her wicket from one end, aiding her side in surpassing the 100-run milestone. Nevertheless, the rain gods intervened once more, forcing the match to come to a halt with West Indies standing at 107/8 in the 26th over. Alleyne held her ground with an unbeaten score of 28 runs, while Karishma Ramharack, facing 15 balls, was at 3 runs when the play was halted.

Alana King and Annabel Sutherland shone with the ball for the hosts, taking three wickets, while Kim Garth and Ashleigh Gardner contributed one wicket to West Indies' downfall.

The target will be adjusted according to DLS for the hosts, provided the rain stops. Stay tuned to this space for further updates.
Great sportsmanship by Australian women players to help the groundsmen bring on the cover in tough windy conditions. 👏👏

👇
9:51 AM IST, 15:21 Local Time: The rain has returned and the players are walking off the field now. A few Aussie players are helping the groundmen to cover the pitch. The wind has picked up and it is getting tough for the groundsmen to bring the covers in. Healy, Perry, and a few Aussie players are helping the groundsmen to bring the white cover in. It is really getting tough for them, and now they are putting their weight on the giant white sheet.
One bounce and into the fence. Good shot by Alleyne and she will look to face the maximum balls and help her side post a decent total.
25.3 A Gardner to A Alleyne
4 FOUR! Fuller and wide outside off, Alleyne goes inside out over extra covers as the ball goes away to the fence. One bounce and over the ropes. Alleyne turning it on now.
The 100 comes up for West Indies Women but for the cost of 8 wickets.
25.2 A Gardner to A Alleyne
4 FOUR! Fuller length around off, Alleyne slog sweeps it away through the midwicket region into the gap as the ball races away to the deep midwicket fence for a boundary.
