That brings us to the end of the coverage of the 2nd ODI between Sri Lanka Women and Bangladesh Women. It was Sri Lanka Women's Day today as they sneaked away with a victory and they lead the series by 1-0.

Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Hitesh Peddurwar signing off along with my co-commentators  Saipavan Janaki and Deepak Prakash and scorers/analysts Bishal Mandal and Ghanendra Thakur  ... Until then stay safe.
17:35 IST| Sri Lanka Women outplayed Bangladesh Women in all three departments and have won this encounter by 58 runs.

We had a delayed start in the play due to the wet outfield 🌧️. The match was reduced to 30 overs a side. Srilanka Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne opened the innings for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka got off to a good and steady start as Chamari kept on ticking the run rate from the word go. This duo glued a partnership of 50 runs for the first wicket. Vishmi departed after scoring 17 runs.

Skipper led her team from the front and made sure that oddballs were sent towards the ropes. Harshitha Madavi joined the skipper in the middle and this duo played the spin pretty well in the middle overs. They stitched a partnership of 53 runs for the second wicket. Chamari Athapaththu departed after playing a good knock of 64 runs off 60 balls.

Bangladesh Women scalped a couple of quick wickets in the middle overs but they failed to put a break on the runs. Harshita Madavi remained unbeaten on 45*. Kavisha Dilhari played a magnificent knock of 25 runs off just 15 balls and took her team to a total of 186 runs. Sultana Khatun was the pick of the bowler for Bangladesh as she was economical and scalped a wicket too. She gave away just 22 runs in her 6-over spell.

While chasing a good total of 187 runs, Bangladesh got off to the worst possible start as they lost two wickets in the powerplay. Bangladesh batters were swinging their bat at everything at the start and paid the price for it. They lost 3 wickets with just 35 runs on the board.

Skipper Nigar Sultana and Fargana Hoque steadied the ship for Bangladesh Women. They started scoring runs at a brisk rate and Sri Lanka fielders helped them to do so as they dropped a couple of catches in the field. This duo orchestrated a partnership of 61 runs for the 4th wicket. Skipper Nigar Sultana(37 runs off 51 balls) fell prey to Sri Lankan skipper Chamari in the 22nd over.

The Srilankan fielders looked pumped up as soon as they scalped the wicket of the Bangladesh skipper. The wickets started tumbling down for Bangladesh. Sri Lanka fielders were outstanding in the later half of the Innings, they were taking exceptional catches with ease.

Bangladesh Women went from 4-96 to 8-117 in a flash. Having a mammoth total ahead, it was never easy for Bangladesh to chase down the target. In the end, Sri Lanka Women won the game by 58 runs.

Oshadi Ranasinghe was terrific today, she didn't allow the Bangladesh batters to settle in the middle. She scalped 5 wickets and gave away just 34 runs in her 6-over spell.

Rain tried to play the spoilsport today, but in the end, cricket won the encounter. Sri Lanka Women leads this series by 1-0. The 3rd and last ODI of the series will be played on Sunday.
Lata Mondal will not come to bat as she injured her fingers while fielding. Players are shaking hands and Sri Lanka Women have won this encounter.
