We all know who the two finalists are! So, on the upcoming Sunday evening at 7:30 PM IST, we have a blockbuster in Ahmedabad. It is again Master vs Apprentice! It's Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans. Can GT win it back-to-back and defend their title, or will it be Thala MS Dhoni winning for the fifth time? Only time will tell.

Heartbreak for Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians and now Hitman can focus on the next assignment which is the biggest of all. World Test Championship final at the Oval in the early part of June.

So a wrap from our side. It is me AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Hitesh Peddurwar, who alongside our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live-action of this sizzling contest. We will meet in the next match. Until then, it's a goodbye!
Shubman Gill: "Ahh... Not really form it is about playing ball-to-ball and over-to-over. There was an over where I hit three sixes and that was the moment I thought I am playing at my best and having a good day. It was a good batting wicket and hence needed to go on with the flow. Not really, needed to have self-belief and I am in my groove now. Not a conscious decision, you need to keep inventing as a batter, especially in this format. Once you have a good international season, you need to keep it going. I also had a good season last year as well. You need to start well and once you do it you feel confident.

From the last West Indies tour, I have tried to be aggressive shifting the gears. I got injured before that IPL in 2021 and was out of action for a couple of months. But still, I kept on working on my game. I really worked hard in a few areas and got myself better technically. All these happened before the New Zealand series after T20 World Cup. Expectations are something that is out of control and flows outside the boundaries. But once one gets onto the field, it is about playing on the ground and making valid contributions to the team.

Yeah, it is the best of me. Ahh... Yeah, I will say that this is the best I have played in an IPL innings. Not exactly! Haha... I wasn't setting my hair after the hundred, it was clearing the sweat from my forehead. I will try my best (on asking to keep the same form going in the WTC final)."
Player of the Match: Shubman Gill
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Captain): "I mean, yeah, but a lot of hard work has gone behind it. The guys kept working hard and they keep working on their skills, it went well.

I think the clarity he [Shubman Gill] carried, he is in a great place when it comes to the mindset. This has to be one of the best knocks I have seen in a while. He never looked in rush, he was always in control and it felt like the balls were thrown at him and he was striking them. I mean whoof!! He is a superstar and is going to be a big name in the upcoming days.

My job is simple here, and I make sure that the boys are in the right frame of mind here. Every individual takes up responsibility. When things are not going well for us, he is the one who comes in and takes one or two wickets. I have told it several times, he is someone who does things like magic.

I mean we will give our best. Irrelevant of the result, if we put our hundred percent and give our best, things are going to be fun. I mean knockouts are a fun game. It can go here and can go there, I mean, it is going to be fun with the boys."

12:19 PM IST | Time for the post-match presentations...
Since losing to Rising Pune Super Giants in Qualifier-1 in 2017, this is Mumbai Indians' first loss in the Playoffs!
Gujarat Titans become the third team after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to reach the final in back-to-back seasons.
Mohit Sharma (Gujarat Titans): "No, I have been lucky to get five wickets. The ball was skidding a lot at times. When Surya and Tilak were batting, it felt as if Mumbai Indians could pull off this chase.

I felt that if Surya is ahead of me, we are not going to experiment with too many things. When we try to go against Surya, we want to go simple as he must be having three-four shots in his mind. We were okay to be hit for six sixes off length balls. Sometimes you need to bowl length balls as it is not easy to execute those shots of a length always.

Obviously, it wasn't over even after Surya got out, but it was a sigh of relief for us. We have learned from such situations. GT has lost such matches and also won such kinds of matches. Thank you so much."
Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians Captain): "Yeah, look it was a great total. Shubman batted really good. They got 20-25 runs extra. We were quite positive with the batting line-up we had. But we couldn't bat long and stitch partnerships. Surya and Greeny [Cameron Green] went well in the middle but yeah, we failed to go along.

We wanted to give a crack, get on a positive note. We lost a few wickets in the powerplay. Surya and Greeny [Cameron Green] did well in the middle. We needed someone like Shubman out there who batted long from one end for the Gujarat Titans.

Something that we didn't expect [on the Ishan Kishan injury]. He had a bit of a concussion there. I don't know how it happened. It was a last-minute change. That is something you need to adapt. you need to adapt to different conditions and situations but we are not reflecting too much on that.

Playing this game and qualifying, it gives us a lot of confidence. Some of the younger players in our batting are our huge positive. We will look and see how to go about in the next season.

Honestly, all the bowling teams have been challenged this season. We had a great bowling performance at times. We have to give credit to Shubman and his form. I hope he gets to continue his form. It is something, Tim, we have given him some role and for certain situations where he would perform. I mean Vishnu, he is a good player and can bat well there. We are not going to look too much at it, Gujarat bowlers came out on top and didn't give us freebies."
Earlier in the evening, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first after rain halted the match for exactly half an hour. Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill gave Gujarat Titans a perfect start adding 54 runs for the opening wicket. Piyush Chawla removed Saha (18 off 16) via a stumping dismissal straight after the Powerplay and broke the opening stand. But what happened after this was something special. It was Gill show all the way.

The stylish right-hander had a big partnership for the second wicket alongside B Sai Sudharsan as they stitched 138 runs. While Sudharsan was playing the perfect anchor’s role, the classy Shubman was going all guns blazing and didn’t spare any bowler. He piled on the records and hammered the bowlers to all parts of Ahmedabad. Gill completed his third IPL hundred in just 49 balls and, in total, scored 129 runs off 60 balls, including 10 sixes and 7 fours. Gill's blistering innings was put to an end by last games hero Akash Madhwal in the 17th over.

As Sudharsan (43 off 31) was getting closer to his half-century, he was struggling for the timing and had to make way for Rashid Khan (5* off 2), getting retired out after the 19th over. Hardik Pandya (28* off 13) smashed a few lovely strokes and finished GT's innings on a high, posting 233/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing something huge, Mumbai Indians were already on the back foot as Ishan Kishan was unable to bat after getting hit on the left eye by his own teammate Chris Jordan during the first innings and later was substituted on concussion with Vishnu Vinod. Hence Nehal Wadhera, the impact player and Rohit Sharma opened the batting for MI. But it was Mohammad Shami yet again striking with the new ball and dismissing both the openers inside three overs, leaving MI reeling at 21/2. In between this, number three batter Cameron Green was retired hurt as he got hit on his left elbow.

Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav added a quickfire 51-run stand for the third wicket and gave MI some hope. It was Tilak who was smashing the bowlers, especially Shami was taken to the cleaners in his third over. Just in the final ball of the field restrictions, Rashid Khan broke this dangerous stand by castling the stumps of the southpaw who looked brilliant for his 43 runs in just 14 balls.

Green (30 off 20) came back again to bat and added 52 runs for the 4th wicket alongside SKY but Josh Little, the impact player made an impact straightaway rattling the former in the 12th over. Surya (61 off 38) tried his best to get closer to the target and scored a magnificent fifty. But wickets fell at the other at regular intervals and MI were all-out for 171 in 18.2 overs.

Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowler and finished the match with figures of 2.2-0-10-5! Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shami scalped a couple of wickets each while Little got a wicket.

So, it is the defending champions facing the four-time champions in the big finale. Gujarat Titans make the appearance of the final two in two seasons and now let us see who will be lifting the beautiful silverware.
11:58 PM IST | Mohit Sharma picks up the final wicket left in the chase and ends with a five-wicket haul. The celebrations begin at Narendra Modi Stadium as Gujarat Titans win the Qualifer-2 by 62 runs and set the date with Chennai Super Kings for the grand finale taking place on Sunday! It will be Hardik Pandya vs MS Dhoni in the summit clash and will be a cracker of a game for sure! All these happened due to one man, Shubman Gill and if not for his sizzling hundred, Mumbai might have won this fixture.
