Milestone
That's it from this game of CPL 2023. We will be back bright and early tomorrow morning for another game in the CPL 2023. Stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal alongside scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Faf du Plessis (St, Lucia Kings Captain): "Happy with the result. Sad I am leaving at an important stage of the tournament. I think we should have got more. To beat TKR like the way we did was great, Proud of the boys performance today. They went for sixes and that helped. They went for broke and our bowlers stood up right well. I have played with it for two years. The elbow operation is important and I will head to the hospital and get it done. Feels a little bit smaller. I enjoyed my innings here and got one or two wickets here and counter punched the innings. Happy with the win, Always for me has been to pull the cricket and resources we have. Roston Chase has been great, Charles is a great thinker. Raza is an experienced guy. So, obviously it will be a change. We have Sammy there who will guide us and I am sure the new captain will do a good job for us. I will miss playing for them for sure and hopefully the new captain carries the legacy forward."
Kieron Pollard(Trinbago Knight Riders Captain):- "It was a pretty decent wicket to bat on. I think we batted well but we lost the game because of few small mistakes. We have to rebuild and comeback strong. We lost two in the powerplay and then Nicholas fell. I think we need to come out and express ourselves. We overexpressed. As they had a leg spinners, I thought to bring the left-right balance. So brought Akeal ahead of Russell. We are confident of a better showdown with the bat, we just need to put ourselves together. We have no lacking as such."
Sikandar Raza(Player of the Match)- "It was good. I thought we were 10-15 runs short and I knew that the wicket will slow down and if we can bowl right then we will have a outside chance. When you have 5 bowlers and 8 different bowlers, you get advantages, no matter which track it is. I think Faf as a captain has done some amazing team and the impact he has made will definitely boost us to play further and play the finals and win"
10:54 PM IST, 1:24 PM Local Time: So, that's the end of the game and the St, Lucia Kings have come out on top here with an impressive 54 run win over hapless Trinbago Knight Riders. They have played smart cricket and better cricket than TKR and for the Knights it will be back to the drawing board for them.

Chasing 168 for the win, Trinbago Knight Riders lost wickets at regular intervals. Mark Deyal made 33 off 19 balls at the top of the order. Skipper Kieron Pollard top scored 34 off 15 balls. Akeal Hosein scored 12 off 12 balls while Andre Russell scored 10 off 11 balls. The rest of the batters were out in single digits and 8 extras were given by the fielding side. TKR were bowled out for 113 in 14.5 overs.

The Kings bowlers were fantastic today with the ball. Khary Pierre was the pick of the bowlers with 4/20 in 3.5 overs. A couple of wickets for Roston Chase and Sikandar Raza. Peter Hatzoglou and Alzarri Joseph also got a wicket each to their name.

Earlier in the game, the Kings were asked to bat first by Trinbago Knight Riders. Faf du Plessis was the star with his 57 coming off 36 balls. Johnson Charles scored 37 off 31 balls. Bhanuka Rajapaksa struggled for his 15 off 21 balls while Sikandar Raza scored 32 off 23 balls towards the end. They fell away towards the end but managed to score 167/5 in 20 overs. 18 extras were given by the fielding side.

Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo picked up a couple of wickets apiece each. While Ali Khan got the other wicket to fall. Akeal Hosein was wicketless but economical in his spell and so was Sunil Narine who kept it tight. It did not matter in the end as they went down to the Kings.

So, the Kings won by 54 runs to stay at the top of the points table. Stick around for the presentations.
14.5 K Pierre to A Khan
W That's the game!!!! Good length ball, right in the middle. Khan tried to sweep it through square leg but played down the wrong line and as a result got hit right on his backfoot pad. Umpire raised his finger and batter went for the review. DRS showed that it is clearly out. TKR lost by 54 runs.
