Earlier, the toss was delayed for this contest due to early morning rains. However, the sun was shining, and we got underway at the normal time with the Knight Riders batting first. Guptill returning to CPL was lucky a couple of times but perished against Cottrell who got the ball swinging in the third over of the match.
Just as it looked like the game was moving on nicely, heavy rains came in and delayed proceedings. The rains cleared away soon, but the umpires weren't satisfied with the ground conditions. Just as we were getting closer to the second inspection time by the umpires, heavy rains returned, and the match was called off in the end.
