Player Bio

A tall speedster from Harare who has a great inswinging yorker, Blessing Muzarabani is a right-arm fast bowler who plays cricket for the Zimbabwe national team.

Spotted at a very young age, Muzarabani was fast-tracked into the national setup and the bowler was included in the Test squad for the series against South Africa in December 2017.

The Port Elizabeth wicket had a lot of bounce and a lot was expected from Muzarabani who disappointed in his debut match, going wicketless and going wayward with his line and length.

A few months later after his Test debut, the youngster was given another chance to impress everyone in the shorter formats of the game making his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2018. But just like his Test debut, he had a forgettable ODI debut as well, going for 31 runs in four overs.

It wasn’t until 2020 that the world saw the real Muzarabani. In an ODI match against a strong Pakistani side in 2020, the speedster grabbed his maiden five-wicket haul in ODI cricket, registering figures of 5 for 49. The match ended in a tie and Muzarabani was the hero in the Super Over, picking up 2 wickets and giving away just 2 runs to give his batsmen a three-run chase, which they pulled off.

The Harare-born pacer was drafted in the T20I squad for the series against Afghanistan. In the three-match series, he took 6 wickets and was especially good at the death.

Touted by many as the future of Zimbabwe cricket, Muzarabani has all the skills and variations to lead the inexperienced pace attack of Zimbabwe.
