Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌✌
Laura Wolvaardt (Barmy Army Women Stand-in Skipper): " Yeah I think our bowlers did very well. It was not easy to defend the total, looking at the short boundaries. No major updates regarding Lauren, she is still in the hospital. Hope so she gets well soon. Yeah, I have been enjoying opening, it didn't come out well but will try to get better in the coming games."
Sindhu Sriharsha (Warriors Women Captain): "We were trying different combinations to see what semifinal is gonna look like, but very happy with the way we fight till the end. I think they batted really well and getting runs on the board is always good, they did add pressure on us by taking frequent wickets."
Deandra Dottin(Player of the match): "Yeah to be honest the break was good for me, all and all it worked for me. I think we stuck with our plans and bowled the basics, it was a good total to defend. We want to thank the fans they have been very good."
Time for post-match presentation ceremony!!!
2:53 PM IST | Deepak: The winning streak continues for Barmy Army as they clinched a comprehensive victory by 17 runs against the Warriors.

Let's take a moment and revisit the proceedings of this contest that transpired. Warriors won the toss and invited the Barmy Army to bat first. Barmy Army Women's opening was nothing but a nightmare. Their captain, Lauren Winfield-Hill, was unfortunately hit on the chin πŸ€• and had to leave the field in the first over. The veteran batter, Laura Wolvaardt, also couldn't withstand the pressure as she fell prey to Hayley Matthews in the fourth over. After the powerplay, Barmy Army was struggling with only 32 runs and two wickets down.

But then came Deandra Dottin and Rumana Ahmed to the rescue. Dottin showcased her beast mode and played a breathtaking innings, hitting boundaries with ease. She formed a solid partnership of 99 runs off 65 balls with Ahmed for the third wicket. Dottin departed after scoring 69 runs off 48 balls, which included seven sixes and three fours.

After Dottin's departure, Ahmed stepped up her game and started dealing in just boundaries. She played a crucial cameo of 36 runs off 28 balls. Barmy Army Women finished with a total of 163 runs in 20 overs, which looked highly defendable.

The Warriors Women's pursuit of the Barmy Army's challenging 163-run target began on a disappointing note as they lost early wickets in the powerplay. The duo of Ellie Johnston and Tanya Ruma were dismissed early on, leaving the team in a spot of bother at 22/2 after three overs. However, Hayley Matthews and Yasmeen Khan attempted to stabilize the innings and resurrect the chase. Unfortunately, their partnership was cut short by Deandra Dottin, who dismissed Matthews for a well-made 28 runs and halted the momentum. The Warriors lost a couple more wickets and were in a precarious situation at 79/6 in the 11th over.

The Warriors were in dire need of a savior to rescue them from their precarious situation, and Kathryn Bryce tried to be just that. With her bat as her weapon, she went on a rampage and started scoring runs at a blistering pace. Her quick-fire knock of 45 runs off just 26 balls was a testament to her prowess as a batter. However, her valiant efforts came to a screeching halt as she was run out, leaving the Warriors stranded and without any hope of a comeback. Eventually, they were bundled out for 146 runs, and they fell 17 runs short of their victory.

From the bowling front, Deandra Dottin and Tara Norrisbagged a couple of wickets for Barmy Army, while Sana Fatima, Rumana Ahmed, Rubina Chhetry, and Kavisha Kumari contributed one wicket to the Warriors' downfall.

Stick around for the post-match presentation...

The fielder at short covers region drops the catch but throws it quickly at the bowler's end. Bowler collects the ball and whips off the bails quickly. Barmy Army have won this game by 17 runs.

18.5 D Dottin to S Connell
W Caught and bowled!!! Good length delivery outside the off-stump line, a slower one this time. Connell goes deep in her crease and tries to defend it but gets deceived by the pace and gets it on the toe end of the bat. The ball goes straight back into the hands of the Dottin.
