Yorkshire with this defeat slips to their third loss in three games and they have work to do to come back in the competition. They gave a good account of themselves but had a bridge too far as they had too much of a target to get today.
Chasing a mammoth 218 for the win, Yorkshire had a mountain to climb from the start. Adam Lyth provided them the fireworks with a quickfire 24 off 8 balls. Dawid Malan chipped in with 26 off 18 balls. The keeper batter Tattersall made 39 off 33 balls while Revis made 14 off 11 balls. Jordan Thompson scored a quickfire 33 off 24 balls. David Wiese chipped in with a quickfire 28 off 14 balls but it was always going to be a bridge too far Yorkshire finished at 189/7 in 20 overs falling 28 runs short.
From Durham's point of view, Raine was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/27 in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Ben Glover, Bas de Leede, and Sowter. Glover and Leede went the distance, but they had enough runs in the bank to defend the total.
Earlier in the game, Durham put into bat first lost Clark early for a golden duck. It was the Alex Lees show as the skipper of Durham led from the front with his 90 off 53 balls.
