So, that's it from Match 26 of the Indian Premier League 2023. We will be back tomorrow with a Thursday double header. Make sure you join us for both the games starting in the afternoon. Till then, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Marcus Stoinis (Player of the Match): "I just passed on a message from Zamps which he told me to give to Manoj Badole.

It was nice to get involved with the ball. There were exact plans to get Jos and we used the wicket, used the facilities there and used my smarts as a bowler.

That's what we are identified when we are batting. The messages sent back to us was it was a tough wicket so don't set your standards too high. Don't try and score a 50 off 20 balls sort of thing. Maybe it might be a different wicket. Just put on a good total.

You have to ask the skipper whether I will bowl. I am good fitness wise."
KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants Captain): "I got hit on one of the throws but I am ok. A great game. At the end of the 10 over mark, the message was to get to 160 and if we have two set batters, it was about getting 10 more. They bowled well and we struggled. We were 10 short and then we bowled well. There was no dew as well. So, fair for both sides I guess.

We came in yesterday and thought 180 was a good score. But the first over from Boult showed and the ball was low. We had a chat and 160 was par. We assessed it well. We could have got 170 had we batted better. Yes, Amit Mishra creating the run out and then losing wickets in clusters helped us. We tried our best and we are happy with the win. I thought we executed our plans with the ball."

11:35 PM: Time for the post-match presentation.
Marcus Stoinis is the Player of the Match.
Kyle Mayers: "It was a good victory. Always nice to win away from home. I have been batting well. This pitch was a difficult one. It wasn't best to play strokes freely. I tried to bat as long as possible because it was hard for the batters to come in and play strokes. Every day, you tend to try to bat long. This innings was a critical one, given the situation we were in. I tried to use my matchups and happy with the innings. It was just low. Don't think it was two-paced. The pace was alright but the invariable bounce was a bit hard to counter. My game plan is to execute. I'm always confident that I get a good piece of the bat on the ball and don't think I care much about the stumps."
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Skipper): "Not that great after the loss. We would have loved to win the first game in Jaipur but we will learn from it and move forward. With the batting lineup we have, we would have chased it down but they bowled well. I was expecting this kind of wicket with slow and low bounce and we got that tonight. You need to play some smart cricket. We were going well till the 9th or 10th over but as Jaiswal got out, we lost our way. Five overs and 50 required on this type of wicket and on this big ground is a tough job. We will be learning from our mistakes. We did a fine job to restrict them to a low total."
11:18 PM IST: The IPL 2023 keeps on giving as we have another last over finish. At the end of it all, it is the Lucknow Super Giants who comes out of nowhere to win this game by 10 runs defending 154 on this tricky surface.

Chasing 155 for the win, Rajasthan much like the Super Giants got off to a steady start courtesy of their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. The duo put on 87 for the first wicket before Jaiswal fell for 44. Jos Buttler scored 40 off 41 as he struggled out there and got out at the wrong moment. The Sanju Samson run out was also a crucial aspect of the game. Devdutt Padikkal tried his best for his 26 off 21 balls. Riyan Parag scored 15* off 12 balls but it was a bridge too far as RR fell short by 10 runs.

The LSG bowlers pulled their socks up and created the heist. Marcus Stoinis was the initial destroyer picking up a couple of wickets in one over finishing with 2/28 in 4 overs. Avesh Khan bowled well and held his nerve to pick up 3/25 in 4 overs. Amit Mishra was the one who created the run-out of Sanju Samson.

Earlier in the game, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a sedate start courtesy of their openers Kyle Mayers and skipper KL Rahul. They were slow in the powerplay and upped the ante thereafter. They put on 82 for the first wicket before the skipper KL Rahul fell for 39 off 32 balls. Kyle Mayers completed his 3rd IPL fifty as he scored 51 off 42 balls. They lost their way after that. Marcus Stoinis chipped in with 21 off 16 balls while Nicholas Pooran scored 29 off 20 balls as LSG finished with what turned out to be a match-winning 154/7 in 20 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers for the Rajasthan Royals as he finished with exceptional figures of 2/23 in 4 overs. He was ably supported by Trent Boult who gave away 16 runs in his 4 overs as he picked up a wicket. A wicket apiece for Sandeep Sharma and Jason Holder.

So, this is the lowest score defended in IPL 2023. Lucknow Super Giants wins their 4th game in 6 games and are level on points with Rajasthan Royals at the top of the table. RR still ahead on Net Run Rate. Another away side winning a game in IPL 2023. That has been the trend for the past week. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony.
