Milestone
That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter between UP Warriorz Women and Mumbai Indians Women. It was UP Warriorz day today as they sneaked away with a victory. Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Hitesh Peddurwar signing off along with my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav...Until then stay safe...
Deepti Sharma(Player of the match): "I knew that Sophie is playing so we can hit easily. We were confident that we will take it till the end and take the team over the line. The pitch was slightly better in the second innings. I think the bowling unit did very well today and with the bat, McGrath and Harris played pretty well. We just thought of taking the team over the line and we got succeded today. We were just focusing on the positives rather than on the negatives and we backed each other in the middle."
Alyssa Healy(UP Warriorz Women Skipper): "Credit goes to the girls they did pretty well, hanging in till the end and taking the team over the line was not an easy task. We executed well with the ball. Parshavi bowling in her debut game bowled exceptionally well. Really proud of our spinners. If the wickets are gonna get slow then we have a good chance."
18:21 IST| That's it!!!! UP Warriorz have defeated the best side of the tournament. They have broken the streak of the Mumbai Indians of 5 wins and Mumbai Indians no longer remain undefeated in this tournament. Warriorz have won this game with 5 wickets.

While chasing a paltry total of 128 runs Up Warriorz got off to a disastrous start. They lost the of wicket Devika Vaidya in the second over. Skipper Alyssa Healy and young gun Kiran Navgire played a few glorious shots but failed to put up a big show in the middle. Warriorz lost one wicket each in the 6th and 7th over respectively. Mumbai Indians were ridiculous in the field as they dropped 3 easy catches within 10 overs.

The Australian duo of Tahila McGrath and Grace Harris orchestrated a partnership of 44 runs for the 4th wicket. Tahila was timing the ball beautifully but fell prey to the Kiwi allrounder Amelia Kerr in the 12th over.

Harris continued her brutal hitting and took her team a step closer to victory. Harris departed after scoring 39 runs off 28 balls. Sophie Ecclestone(16*) and Deepti Sharma(13*) did the rest as they took their team over the line in 19.3 overs.

Mumbai Indians bowlers bowled pretty well today but the batters didn't do their job well and that cost them the game. From bowling point of view, Amelia Kerr scalped a couple of wickets. Natalie and Hayley scalped a wicket each.

Earlier in the game, Alyssa Healy won the toss and invited Harmanpreet and co to bat first.  Warriorz bowlers bowled pretty well with the new ball, they didn't leak easy runs in the powerplay and kept the Mumbai Indians batters on the backfoot. Yastika Bhatia and Natalie Sciver failed to impress the MI fans today. Hayley Matthews played a few glorious shots in the middle and scored 35 runs off 30 balls.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur got off to a good start but failed to capitalize on it. She departed after scoring 25 runs. The wickets started tumbling down for Mumbai Indians in the middle overs. In the end, they crawled towards a total of 127 runs.

This was the first time in WPL that 18 overs were bowled by the spinners. Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers for UP Warriorz as she scalped 3 wickets and gave away just 15 runs in her 4-over spell. Gayakwad and Deepti Sharma scalped couple of wickets each and the debutant Parshavi Chopra scalped one wicket.

For the first time,  the lower middle order of Mumbai Indians was put under the test and they failed, Mumbai Indians' fielders were poor in the field today as they dropped 4 catches. Today was a litmus test for them before going into the playoffs, they need to tick a few more boxes to keep dominating this season.

UP Warriorz played good cricket today and they came up victorious. Good signs for them as they have got momentum at the business end of the tournament.

Stay tuned for post match presentation ceremony.
