That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Let's hope that the weather clears before the Eliminator of the Men's Hundred Competition 2023 which will be played at the same venue. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Ashok Dayma. Bye Bye.
9:15 PM IST, 4:45 PM Local Time: What a tame end to this Eliminator of the Women’s Hundred 2023 Competition. Rain has the final say as the game gets called off, with the Northern Superchargers Women qualifying for the final. The Welsh Fire Women will be disappointed as they had a remarkable season this year.

The Fire Women lost their last league game against the Superchargers Women and it resulted in them finishing at the third position, as opposed to the Superchargers Women who finished second. If they had won their last league fixture, things would have been different for them.

All smiles in the Superchargers Women camp though as they reach their maiden final. They will now face the Southern Brave Women at the Lord’s in London tomorrow. Let’s hope that the rain stays away tomorrow and we get a full game.
9:13 PM IST, 4:43 PM Local Time: The rain has stopped but the play should begin in 28 minutes for a 25-ball chase. The match officials are having a chat with both the captains. The captains are shaking hands and the match has been called off. That's it. The Superchargers Women are into the final whereas the Fire Women are eliminated from the competition.
8:57 PM IST, 4:27 PM Local Time: It has started to rain here at The Oval and the covers are firmly in place. The cut-off time for a 25-ball chase is 5:11 PM Local Time (9:41 PM IST).
8:50 PM IST, 4:20 PM Local Time: The official word is that the players won't be returning to the field for at least 30 minutes after the last lightning unless the officials think that it is safe to resume. So the Welsh Fire innings comes to an end.

Welsh Fire skipper Tammy Beaumont won the toss and opted to bat first. They had a very good start as Sophia Dunkley along with Beaumont played some beautiful strokes up front. Beaumont was dropped by Phoebe Litchfield on five as the Fire Women ended the powerplay, with the scoreboard reading 37/0.

Dunkley hit three boundaries and a six and scored 38 off 28 balls before holing out in the deep in the ninth set. Hayley Matthews walked out to bat at three but struggled to get going as she fell on 10 while trying to up the ante. It was a good little period for the Superchargers Women before Laura Harris was promoted up the order.

Harris started aggressively and it allowed Beaumont to cut loose. The pair took the Fire Women past the 100-run mark in the 15th set. Harris (14*) and Beaumont (37*) remained unbeaten at the crease as the Fire Women were 104/2 at the end of 75 balls before lightning forced the players to leave the field.

The Fire Women will be disappointed as they were just loosening up and eyeing a big total. For the Superchargers Women, Lucy Higham and Grace Ballinger picked up a wicket each. Now it remains to be seen whether we manage to get any play. Remember, if this game gets washed out, the Northern Superchargers Women will qualify for the final due to their position in the points table at the end fo the league stages.
8:38 PM IST, 4:08 PM Local Time: The umpires have decided to take the players off. There were a couple of lightnings in the area. Also, the dark clouds are approaching The Oval. The groundsmen are quick to bring on the covers as they are expecting a short sharp shower soon.
8:36 PM IST, 4:06 PM Local Time: Time for a Strategic Time Out. The Fire Women are nicely placed at the end of 15 sets. They are 104/2 and have a solid foundation with 20 balls to go. Beaumont and Harris have started to cut loose and these are ominous signs for the Superchargers Women.
