That's it from a brilliant game of the Hundred involving a lot of returning stars for both the teams. Ninaad Dixit here signing off for the night on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Moeen Ali (Birmingham Phoenix Captain): "Brilliant knock from Jamie, we haven't seen a lot of him. A gem of a knock today. We obviously got a scored which we thought was a little bit short initially but we bowled really well getting those early wickets.

Woakes is a proper swing bowler with some pace as well. He is an old-school bowler with the way he bowls. He is someone who knows what he is doing and concedes very less runs."
Jamie Smith is the hero of the match.
1:12 AM IST, 8:42 PM Local time: The Birmingham Phoenix win by 41 runs, a commanding victory over the table toppers Oval Invincibles at the Edgbaston. The bowlers had a great day out in the field for both the sides.

Invincibles won the toss earlier in the game and elected to bowl first conceding 160/8 with Zak Chappell finishing with 4/33, Jamie Smith scored 60 in 33 balls with 3 sixes, skipper Moeen scored 33 in 26 balls.

Adam Milne struck straightaway drawing an edge from Will Jacks on his first ball he bowled. Jordan Cox was then hit on his hand and had to retire hurt. Jason Roy helped the run rate with back to back boundaries getting to a start as Klaasen edged one to Ben Duckett at slip for duck becoming Chris Woakes's first wicket of the tournament this year.

Phoenix got in much better control as Benny Howell luckily got the big fish as stand-in wicketkeeper Chris Benjamin grabbed one off Roy's bat after it hit the keeper's grille. Skipper Sam Billings was in a rush hitting 14 off 8 with a six and four but was grabbed by Moeen at extra cover off Liam Livingstone's bowling leaving Invincibles at 51/4 after 50 balls.

Sam Curran struggled at the other end with Richardson sending him back soon after pegging the score to 55/5. Entered Sunil Narine at the crease who hit his first 2 balls for sixes and holed out after scoring 20 in 11 balls.

Richardson bowled Chappell on the very next ball claiming his third wicket but did not get the hattrick. With 8 balls remaining and the target well out of reach, Milne sent Nathan Sowter  (6) back ending his 20 with 2/18.

A struggling Ross Whiteley who managed 35 in 31 balls and also clubbed 2 sixes in a lost cause was the last man out as he was bowled by Richardson on the penultimate ball of the match.

Richardson (4/32) was the pick of the bowlers. Benny Howell (1/16), Chris Woakes (1/21) and Liam Livingstone (1/8) pocketed a wicket apiece taking the team to their first win in four matches. The result had no impact on the points table as the Invincibles keep their top spot with 7 points and Phoenix remain at the bottom with 3.

W BOWLED HIM! Its all over for the Invincibles. Birimingham Phoenix win their first game of the series. Bowls it full and straight on the off stump, Whiteley tries to slog it again down the ground but gets an inside edge on the stumps.
