That's all from an exciting contest in the Hundred ball competition. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishan Polya and scorer Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Wayne Parnell (Northern Superchargers Captain): "The partnership between David Wiese and Brydon Carse was crucial. It really injected some momentum into our batting. You know, Carse was coming back from an injury but was doing well in the recently concluded T20 Blast. Wiese has been doing it consistently, destroying the bowlers and teams in the slog overs.

It was definitely a two-paced wicket. The spinners of Trent Rockets did very well. We have also had three spinners and they did their job. The fielders added around 10 runs to it. We didn't try different things. Instead, we stuck to our basics and the things that have worked well for us.

I was thinking I should go 10 while bowling. I like bouncing ideas off people. Then there are days when I go on gut feel. Then there are days where I question people. Before the first ball is bowled, everything is with coaches and analysts. When I started, I thought of bowling seam up and angle it across. Cricket is what you see and react to and not what is given to you before the game.

We are a quality side. We have the guys within us to win the game with the bat and the ball. Yeah, captaincy has been okay so far and I like to be creative. I try to set different fields accordingly. You want people to come and see that Superchargers are playing an entertaining brand of cricket."
David Wiese: "It's that type of wicket where you are never in. It was one of those pitches, where you need to take a bit of time before going big. Things worked for me well. Just tried to take this as deep as possible. The last couple of sets can cause a lot of damage with wickets in hand.

I just kept it simple. I tried to hit the top of the off-stump. The spinners did brilliant work in the middle overs. Yeah, it was tough. I just tried to take the catch and give us some chance to win the match. Obviously, the weather has played a lot of parts in the tournament so far but you know, this is a long, long tournament."
Player of the Match: David Wiese
10:07 PM IST, 5:37 PM Local time: An exciting fixture in the Hundred comes to an end as Northern Superchargers get home by 3 runs on the 200th ball of the match defending 142 runs on the back of allround performances.

The Rockets skipper Lewis Gregory won the toss and elected to bowl with Luke Wood getting three wickets in the first 10 balls, all bowled. An unbeaten 54 from David Wiese and his partnership with Brydon Carse pushed the Superchargers to a competitive total of 142/5.

Dawid Malan fell early in the chase but Alex Hales thumped four boundaries in 5 balls against Matt Short to take the score to 40/1 at the end of the powerplay. He added 47 runs with Colin Munro (15) who failed to go big and was out caught becoming Callum Parkinson's first wicket.

Wayne Parnell then struck in his first set removing Hales (29 off 22). Adil Rashid then squeezed the scoring rate conceding just 20 runs in 20 balls. Root arrived at the halfway stage with 82 runs more to get. He attempted a reverse sweep against Parkinson and fell cheaply.

Sam Hain and Tom Kohler-Cadmore continued finding boundaries and converted singles into twos before Reece Topley got rid of Hain for 20 in 12 balls. Kohler-Cadmore was dismissed soon after by Wayne Parnell.

Daniel Sams (27 in 14) and skipper Lewis Gregory (11* off 5) then stayed till the final 5 balls where 9 runs were required. Topley with the task of defending the score did well to contain the scoring and dismissed Sams on the third delivery. Imad Wasim joined Gregory with six required off 2 balls but failed to get the Rockets over the line.

Skipper Parnell (3/21) was the pick of the bowlers with Topley (2/20) and Parkinson (2/29) putting their names in the wicket column as well. This is Superchargers' second win in three matches putting them at the top of the table. That could be short lived as the Manchester Originals play the Oval Invincibles in few minutes.

100b R Topley to L Gregory
1 Brilliant final set from Reece Topley and Northern Superchargers sneak a victory after being reduced to 9/3 early on in the first-innings! A low full toss outside off. Gregory shuffles outside the off-stump and swings hard. Heaves off the inside half of the bat towards deep mid-wicket for a single and Trent Bridge hasn't been great for the home side in both Women's and Men's games today!
99b R Topley to I Wasim
1 Nails the yorker at the leg stump. Wasim backs away and swings hard, getting a toe end of the bat towards long-on for a single. Puts Gregory back on strike needing 5 off the final ball.

Imad Wasim at number 9, he definitely has the capability of going big.
Ninaad: David Wiese turns the game yet again in Superchargers' favour! A brilliant catch running in from the deep. 6 more needed from 2 balls with a new batter on strike. NS are running away with the game.
98b R Topley to D Sams
W WICKETTT!!!! In the air and Sams bites the dust! A vital breakthrough for the Northern Superchargers! Full and at the middle and leg. Sams stays on the leg stump and hits through the line. Doesn't get anywhere close to the sweet spot and gets more height than the distance. A simple catch for Wiese who runs in a few yards from long-on to complete the dismissal.
97b R Topley to D Sams
2 Full and outside off. Sams on the front foot almost gets underneath this one. Goes hard at it and gets this one from the outside half of the bat. In the air and to the left of Matthew Short at long-off for a couple more.
96b R Topley to L Gregory
1 Over the wicket. Length ball outside off. Gregory steps across and overhits as he looks to power it over the mid-wicket region. Mistimes the heave towards long-on for just a run.
9 more runs required from 5 balls with number 7 and 8 batters on the pitch. Reece Topley will deliver the final blow for the Superchargers.

2 A low full toss wide outside off. Gregory stretches and gets some part of his bat on it despite losing the bottom hand. It rolls in between deep point and deep backward point, allowing a double for the batting side.
Ninaad: That is outrageous piece of fielding from David Wiese! The man has done the job with the bat, started well with the ball and is putting everything on the line in the field! TV umpire though has some confirmation, Wiese has stepped on the boundary cushion with the ball still in his possession. SIX RUNS FOR GREGORY AND ROCKETS!
