So this is the third game of the hundred in the day that has been abandoned due to rain. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, who, alongside, our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live updates from this game. Join us for the games across the globe. We will meet in the next fixture. Until then, it's cheers!
9:24 PM IST, 4:54 PM Local Time: ABANDONED! The inevitable has happened and that is it for tonight from the first Men's game of the Super Saturday.

Despite the persistent rain earlier in the day, the groundsmen did a tremendous job to get this game started on time with the London Spirit captain Dan Lawrence opting to bowl first after winning the toss.

Manchester Originals' openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt gave the team a flying start, spanking the Spirit bowlers left, right and centre, stitching 44 runs. Salt was given a life early on as Lawrence dropped a sitter at extra cover and boy, he made them pay with a blistering knock of 21 off just 9 balls, including 3 maximums. Dan Worrall (1/15) had the last laugh at the hard-hitting Salt as he was judged out via a successful review from London Spirit on the caught behind.

Buttler continued his onslaught and smoked 3 fours and 5 sixes in his excellent innings of 62 off 36 balls. Jos the Boss added 67 runs for the second wicket alongside Max Holden (24 off 16) as the Manchester-based franchise clubbed over the 100-run mark in no time. There was a rain interruption in between and the match was reduced to 90 balls per side.

The spinners of the bowling side- Matthew Critchley (1/30) and Liam Dawson (1/27) pegged back the batting side with quick wickets of Holden and Laurie Evans before the experienced Ravi Bopara (2/13) showed his magic with the ball. Bopara executed a well-disguised knuckleball yorker, cleaning up Buttler before he took care of Paul Walter.

The rain started to fall down heavily yet again when Manchester where at 138/5 in 80 balls, with Ashton Turner (16* off 10) and Jamie Overton (2* off 4) trying to finish off the innings. The rain didn't allow any further chance for the resumption and the umpires called off the game.

So both Men's and Women's game was abandoned due to continuous rainfall with the latest game having 80 balls in it. The points are shared and we hope, this is the last time, we had an abandonment in the tournament!
9:06 PM IST, 4:36 PM Local Time: The cut-off time for a 25-ball match is 5:12 PM Local Time which is 9:42 PM IST. Note that the least we can have is a 25-ball game! The weather reports are not good for the rest of the day. We afraid that this might be it for the night!
Ravi Bopara (London Spirit): "Very, very wet. I mean only the wicket is okay. The outfield is wet. The ball is getting wet as it travels in the outfield. The fielders are slipping. They have put a good score on the board. Credit to them. With one side having a short boundary, I guess, this is a decent score. It took two years for me to practise knuckleballs. I never thought I would get the chance to bowl at Buttler. He was going brilliantly. It was tough to bowl at him, especially with the form he is in and with the conditions given. I was focused more on bowling in the right areas. The clouds are building and I am not sure how much more this outfield can soak in."
8:55 PM IST, 4:25 PM Local Time: It's drizzling at the moment, and the two on-field umpires have a chat with the fielding captain Dan Lawrence. For now, they are okay. Jordon Thompson is all set to bowl the 17th set. Oh, hang on! They have changed their mind now and the players are walking off the field.  The hover cover is being brought in. More covers come in as it has started to pour down.

80b N Ellis to A Turner
0 Back of a length and over the stumps. Turner stays leg side of the ball but misses on connecting the back foot punch. He is beaten on the outside edge.
79b N Ellis to A Turner
2 Short and around the off-stump. Turner backs away and upper cuts it. Plays it over point for a double. Wade runs across in the deep and slides near the fence. He is not happy with the outfield and the rain coming down.
78b N Ellis to A Turner
2 Back of a length and following the batter moving away down the leg side. Slower one as well. Turner turns it in the leg side for a couple. Bopara from deep fine leg runs in and gets to the ball which stops around the circle. Good throw from Bopara at the striker's end but Turner was just home.
The rain is getting heavy a bit but the umpires reckon it's fine for now.
77b N Ellis to J Overton
1 Length delivery attacking the stumps. Overton flicks it in the gap through mid-wicket for a single. Mitchell gets to the ball quickly and does well before slipping on the outfield. Still no damage done.
76b N Ellis to J Overton
0 Over the wicket. Back of a length and over the off-stump. Overton doesn't move his feet and misses the short arm jab on the top edge.
A hint of drizzle around.
The umpire is changing the ball.

75b L Dawson to A Turner
1 Full and at the leg stump. Turner sits down on one knee and gets an inside half of the bat on the sweep towards short fine leg for a single.
74b L Dawson to A Turner
4 FOURRRR!!! Quicker one and shorter outside off. Turner is quick to react as he rocks back and uses his hands really well. Cuts it past the dive of the backward point fielder to his right and gets the boundary.
73b L Dawson to J Overton
1 Full and at the leg stump. Overton flicks it to deep mid-wicket for a run getting off the mark.
The third umpire is summoned for a stumping check. The ultra edge indicates a flat line. The foot is grounded when the bails were dislodged and NOT OUT is the call on the big screen.
