Milestone
That's it from the semifinal of the Ranji Trophy as Bengal made their place in the semifinals defeating Madhya Pradesh. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of Ghanendra and Srivathsa. Stay tuned for more cricket coverage from around the world.
Akash Deep is the player of the match.
Bengal with a thumping win to reach the Ranji Trophy final. One of their biggest wins ever in this tournament.

Earlier in the game, Bengal made 438 in their first innings thanks to tons from Sudip Gharami and Anustup Majumdar who put on 241 for the third wicket. That laid the platform for a big score and a couple of cameos from Manoj Tiwary and Abisekh Porel helped the score to 438.

In reply to 438, MP were skittled out for 170 with Akash Deep taking a fifer. Only Saransh Jain and Shubham Sharma resisted but Akash Deep just ran through the batting order with his reverse swing and pace.

With a healthy lead in place, Bengal ensured they batted MP out of the game by making 279 with Majumdar making 80, only to be denied a hundred due to a poor call from Anil Chaudhary who missed a clear inside-edge.

Saransh followed his fifty with the bat with a six-fer as he plugged away relentlessly as did Kumar Kartikeya with the ball.

Set a massive target to chase, MP had no realistic hopes of chasing it down but still they gave it a try. As they went for their shots, they lost wickets and were bowled out for 241 in 40 overs with Pradipta taking a fifer. Rajat Patidar for MP made an attractive fifty but that's as good as it got for them.

Bengal are through to their 14th Ranji Trophy final and await the winner of the Karnataka-Saurashtra clash currently going on in the other semi.

Hang on for the post-match presentation...
