Shuvagata Hom(Chattogram Challengers Captain): "We bowled well in the powerplay but failed to keep the momentum. I made an effort to right the ship following our poor performance in the Powerplay at bat. I believed the pitch was excellent, and we would have done better if we had batted well in the Powerplay."
Amit: An entertaining encounter between Chattogram and Rangpur comes to an end. Rangpur simply outplayed them except Hom. Chattogram won the toss and decided to field first. They started off pretty well, as they took 3 wickets in quick succession, but after that, it was Shoaib Malik's show. Single handedly took his team to a comfortable score, Omarzai stood beside him brilliantly, knocking a few shots here and there. Malik stood there till last ball and helped his team touch 180-ish mark. But when Chattogram came to chase the score down, they lagged behind starting from their openers. Their only hope was 'Hom'. Upon whom they relied first with the ball, then with the bat. Played positive shots, but departed shortly after his 50, his team lost the plot there itself and couldn't revive.He top scored for his team with 52 as they lost the match by a margin of 55 runs. Their last man Afif Hossain was unable to come and bat. Shuvagata Hom would be pretty disappointed after winning the toss, ended the match on a losing side. His personal efforts went in vain.
Update: Afif Hossain won't come out to bat due to hight fever.
