That's it from our coverage of the 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka from Pune. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more coverage from the cricket world.
Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain and POTM): "I think to be honest we could have done well in the middle part because the game was really set by the openers. What we need to do is to play well in the middle overs to accommodate the finishers to finish well.

Its not the dew factor. Its certainly the skill of Indian batters. Axar and Suryakumar. Surya always outstanding. They took the game away from us but we still managed to hold our nerve. Its really good to defend the total like this specially against India because we know that any conditions they are a very good team. Now I know [about his record against India]."
Dasun Shanaka is the player of the match.
Hardik Pandya (India Captain): "I think both in bowling and batting the powerplay hurt us. We made some basic errors which we shouldn't have done at this level. Everyone knows what they have done. But it was a cracker of a game and the way we got back in the game was very heartening to see and at the same point of time learning would be for us that the basics which we can control, we should focus on that because I always emphasize on that. You can have a bad day or you can have a good day but you should not be going away from your basics and I think we can pass on the message to the group that work on the basics, rest of the things will be look after.

In this situation it is very difficult. As a player or a captain, a no ball is not a freebie. You can give runs and go away with everything else. Its not about blaming but its simple cricket. In world cricket or any T20 cricket you play, no ball is a crime. Not being hard on him but at the same point of time he needs to go back and see that these are basic errors which he should not be making at this level.

It was more about giving Rahul a suitable role as Surya has had a fantastic run at number 4 and Rahul has made his debut and is very accustomed at playing at that position. We want to give the new players a suitable role when they come in the team. At the end of the day if we can make them feel comfortable and if they perform, its better for us anyway."
Kasun Rajitha: "Yes, I love this ground. I debuted here and loved the ground here. Yes, we knew there will be a swing under lights and we used it to perfection. We were a bit worried as we went away from the basics and they took advantage of it. Towards the end, when it mattered we went to basics and got the job done in the end. Happy with the win."
10:40PM IST: Another exciting finish in the T20I series but this time Sri Lanka get the honors. The match kept swinging like a pendulum until the final over but Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka kept his calm and decided to introduce himself in the attack for the first time in the series to defend 20 runs to take SL home by 16 runs.

Quick recap to the game, Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first but the decision proved to be a costly one throughout the first innings as the openers got off to a flier thanks to some poorly delivered front foot no balls in the second over from Arshdeep Singh conceding 19 runs off his first over.

The Sri Lanka openers Pathum Nissanka (33) and Kusal Mendis (52 off 31) added 80 runs for the first wicket in just 8.2 overs adding 67 in the powerplay itself. Charith Asalanka played a good knock of 37 off just 19 deliveries but the best performance came out from skipper Dasun Shanaka who hit the fastest ever T20I half century for Sri Lanka getting to the mark in just 20 deliveries and pushed SL across 200.

Umran Malik was expensive but picked up 3 wickets for 48 runs with Axar Patel picking up 2 wickets for 24 in 4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled better than in the first game finishing with 1/30 in 4 overs. Hardik Pandya bowled 2 overs conceding just 13 in the powerplay.

Shivam Mavi didn't continue the fortune of the first game with the ball as he finished wicketless conceding 53 in 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh who was included in the XI ahead of Harshal Patel bowled 2 costly overs including 5 front foot no balls and conceded 37 runs.

India got off to a poor start as Kasun Rajitha too had a change in fortunes getting a wicket off the very first ball as opposed to a wicketless and costly spell in the first game.  He got rid of the openers in the same over and finished well conceding just 22 runs.

Rahul Tripathi made his debut at his home ground and started well with a couple of boundaries but nicked one to the keeper against the left arm medium fast bowling of Dilshan Madushanka who induced an outside edge through to the keeper and bowled good yorkers in the death overs to clinch the game away from India.

Suryakumar Yadav (51 off 36) added very important 91 runs with Axar Patel who was at his best with both bat and ball today getting his maiden century scoring 65 off just 31 deliveries hitting three fours and six sixes, four of those coming against the world's best spinner Wanindu Hasaranga who conceded 26 in an over and didn't complete the full quota of 4 overs finishing with 1/41 in 3 overs getting the wicket of last game's hero Deepak Hooda.

After SKY's departure, Axar got some good help from Shivam Mavi batting for the first time in international cricket. Mavi hit 2 fours and 2 massive sixes to get to his best score in all T20s, 26 off 15 deliveries before getting out on the last ball of the match.

The required rate once touched 18 an over but Surya and Axar's partnership and then some late hitting from Mavi alongside Axar brought it down. Some well executed bowling in the death from Dilshan Madushanka and Maheesh Theekshana put the pressure back on the Indians as they were left with 21 to get off the final over when Shanaka decided to bowl himself and gave away just 4 runs getting rid of both Patel and Mavi.

The series stands level at 1-1 with India winning a thriller at the Wankhede Stadium a couple of days back. We will have a decider on the cards when the teams next meet at Rajkot on Saturday. Stay tuned as we come back with the post match presentation.

19.6 D Shanaka to S Mavi
W WICKET! Full toss here, Mavi goes for the big one and he gets the height and not the distance. The catch is taken by Theekshana at extra cover. Mavi departs for 26 off 15 balls as India finishes with 190/8 in 20 overs to lose the game by 16 runs.
19.5 D Shanaka to S Mavi
0 Length ball here, Mavi drills it down to long-off and will not take the single.
19.4 D Shanaka to U Malik
1 Slower ball banged into the pitch, Malik drills it down the ground for a single.
The umpires come together checking for the height of the full toss. Satisfied with that they now check if the catch was taken cleanly and yes it was. Axar has to depart. He doesn't want to go and is waiting for the signal on the big screen which is stuck.
19.3 D Shanaka to A Patel
W WICKET! Full toss here, Axar hits it hard straight to the long-off fielder. Shanaka has done it in the final over. They are checking the height of the ball. The ball is legal and so is the catch.
19.2 D Shanaka to A Patel
2 Fuller and wide outside off, Axar steers it through the covers to the deep cover fielder for a couple of runs.
20 needed off 5. Axar Patel on strike and he needs to go big.
19.1 D Shanaka to S Mavi
1 Fuller and wide outside off, Mavi drills it down to long-off for a single.
