That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do join us back for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is me, Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and scorer Manish Bishnoi. Tata. Bye Bye.
Laura Harris | Player of the Match: "I think my job is to get after the bowling anyway. 60-70 after the first 10 overs sets a good platform for me to play my strokes. I’m not a huge fan of analyzing things. I look at which things I got wrong and try to fix those. We felt we haven’t played a 20-over game for a long time and good to see the weather clear up tonight. It’s normal for us. We have waited for the finals and have talked about qualifying. If we can’t perform now then what to do? So looking forward to tomorrow."
Laura Harris is the Player of the Match.
Jess Jonassen | Brisbane Heat Skipper: "Pretty proud of the team. Its nice to contribute again. Its a good team effort. Its nice to win that way and we have so much to improve on. The powerhouse Laura Harris is, there is no one like her. There are many bowlers who are scared to bowl at her. We back our skills and when it comes off it looks like that.

It was matter of not allowing to batters not settle. We wanted them to adjust even more than what they had to do. Every bowler put their hand up and did a good job. Its gonna be a real quick review. We will recover and reflect what works well with that team. We will put it out there and hopefully come out with another win to head to North Sydney."
Time for the post-match presentation.
Akshay | 04:45 PM IST: That’s the end of the game. A solid all-round effort from Brisbane Heat Women sees them beat Hobart Hurricanes Women by 44 runs to seal a berth in the Challenger against the Adelaide Strikers Women on Thursday. With this loss, the Hurricanes get knocked out of the Women’s Big Bash League 2022.

Chasing the highest-ever total in the WBBL finals, the Hurricanes got off to a very good start. Elyse Villani and Lizelle Lee put 37 at the end of the powerplay. They were going nicely before the 61-run stand was broken as Villani was run out on 25 in the eighth over. Lee looked solid at the other end but fell three short of her fifty while trying to up the ante.

The Heat Women bowled beautifully in the middle phase as the boundaries dried up. The Hurricanes kept losing wickets at regular intervals as the required run rate crept up. A lack of contributions from the lower-order batters resulted in them finishing their innings on 135/9 to lose the game by 44 runs. Skipper Jess Jonassen starred with the ball for Heat as she picked up four wickets, giving away only 23 runs in her four overs.

Earlier, Hobart Hurricanes skipper Elyse Villani won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision backfired as Brisbane Heat got off to a sensational start. Danielle Wyatt played some wonderful strokes and was well-supported by Georgia Redmayne as they both put 50 between them. Redmayne departed on 14 and it allowed the Hurricanes to get back in the contest. Wyatt looked good at the other end and brought up her fifty but was dismissed soon on 52.

Twin strikes from Amy Smith in the 10th over helped the Hurricanes pull back things. Laura Harris walked out to bat at six and changed the whole course of the match. She hit some lusty blows as they scored 36 runs in the power surge. She hit 6 fours and 3 massive sixes before getting dismissed on 44 off just 14 balls. Charli Knott played a good cameo of 23* to power the Heat to 179 at the end of their 20 overs. Amy Smith was the pick of the bowlers for the Hurricanes as she finished with figures of 3/21. The total proved to be too much in the end for Hobart Hurricanes as they fell short by 44 runs to get knocked out of the competition.

19.6 J Jonassen to R Trenaman
1+W OUT!! Run out to end the season for Hurricanes! 81.8kph. Short delivery on the stumps. Trenaman gets down on a knee and pulls behind square in the leg side. Deep fine leg runs to her right, collects and throws it back to the keeper who collects and whips the bails. Trenaman is at the halfway point of the pitch when the stumps are broken, it's all over for the Hurricanes.
19.5 J Jonassen to R Trenaman
6 SIXXX!!! Rachel Trenaman connects one off the middle! Half volley closer to the off stump. Trenaman gets down on a knee and slog sweeps this right over midwicket and over the Heat dugout for six!
19.4 J Jonassen to A Smith
1 Amy Smith gets off the mark for the final time this season. 78.4kph. Fuller delivery on the middle stump. Uses her feet and drives along the ground to long on.
19.3 J Jonassen to A Smith
0 Hattrick ball! Round the wicket. Good length arm ball on the off stump. Cut off the backfoot to the point fielder. Hopeful appeal for leg before but nothing from the umpire. Jonassen refers! Looks like it came off the sticker of the bat. Ultraedge confirms the same.

Jonassen picks two in two and she finds herself on a hat trick.
19.2 J Jonassen to M Gibson
W 2 wickets in 2 balls for Jonassen! On a hat trick!! Over the wicket, a loopy length delivery on the off stump. Gibson is on the front foot and lifts her backfoot trying to go for a leg side slog. Quick stumping from Georgia Redmayne who appeals and the umpire has no doubt! Raises his finger as Gibson departs for a golden duck.
