That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and Scorer/Analyst Paras Yadav, I, Tugral Azmi, am signing off. Thanks for joining us and stay tuned in for all other coverages from across the world
Quinton de Kock (Durban Super Giants captain): "We needed it, it was a tremendous victory. I've participated in a number of competitions here. It just takes getting out there and working. The wickets, in my opinion, will be a little bit slower and come on a little bit better. We gave up a few wickets, but we later secured the victory."
Kyle Mayers(Player of the match): "Seeing the team cross the finish line is a satisfying sensation. (Brevis dismissal) I do that all the time. My squad always supports me in trying the inswinging yorker upfront to grab the wicket in the first over. It felt wonderful. I have few skills, try to show every now and then."
Rashid Khan(MI Cape Town Captain): "The final period of the first innings was when we played our best cricket. A difference would have been created by 20–25 runs. It was fantastic to watch the way the men bowled. Was a fantastic cricket match. We shouldn't repeat their errors. The second inning is simpler for the batsmen. However, we have good bowlers if we can post somewhere around 170. We'll return stronger because the competition is still young."
Time for the post-match presentations
12:19 AM IST After losing a close encounter in the inaugural game of SA20, the Durban Super Giants opens their winning account in style 🙌as they crushed the MI Cape Town by 5 wickets...!!!!

Earlier in the game, Durban Cape Giants won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first. Dewald Brevis was removed right in the second ball of the innings, courtesy of an in-swinger yorker from Mayers. Grant Roelofsen and George Linde provided some resistance towards the end, with the former 52 runs off 44 balls and forging a partnership of 60 runs for the 5th wicket. George Linde was dismissed on the score of 33 and cameo innings of Delano Potgieter 25(11) who helped their side to set a competitive total of 152 on the board. On the flip side, Reece Topley, Hardus Viljoen, and Prenelan Subrayen scalped a couple of wickets each while Jason Holder bagged a solitary wicket.

Coming to the chase, Durban Super Giants were off to a steady start as the openers glued a partnership of 35 runs for the first wicket. Giants kept the run rate ticking and didn’t allow the required run rate to pile up. They scored 60 runs in the powerplay losing just one wicket. Mayers departs in the 7th over after scoring 34 runs off 23 balls. Heinrich Klaasen was joined by Wiaan Mulder and both started the recovery work for the hosts. Both took some time to settle but teed off once they got their eye in. Mulder played aggressively and Klaasen played the role of a second fiddle perfectly. This duo put 56 between them before the latter was cleaned up by Olly Stone on 36. In no time, Mulder also departed on 30. Keemo Paul remained unbeaten on 20* ably supported by Jason Holder and made sure that there were no more hiccups in the chase as they took his side across the line in the 16.3 overs.

The MI Cape Town bowling attack was led by Olly Stone, who claimed four-for wickets for 28 runs in 3.3 overs and George Linde added one more to the tally. The rest of the bowlers were wicketless during the match.

With this victory in their courtyard, Cape Town jumped to the second spot on the point table and improved their net run rate as well.
