Tristan Stubbs along with Smuts started building a
partnership for the fourth wicket, this duo added some 34 runs and the former
dismissed on 23. Smuts and Tom Abell,
came out all guns blazing and scoring briskly in the middle overs. They
stitched a partnership of 65 runs for the 5th wicket, and Smuts departed for 66 runs off 51 balls. After the dismissal of Smuts, Tom Abell (40*)and James Fuller (27*) scored quickly in the death overs, a partnership of 37 runs in 19 balls, but the target required 42 runs in 6 balls in the last over, which was an impossible task for Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
