Milestone
That's it from the presentation ceremony. A riveting Test match finally comes to an end. India have a 1-0 lead and will look to wrap up the series in the next game at Dhaka. Join us for that game but till then it's a goodbye from me, Anurag Dasgupta, my co-commentator Arjun Bhalla and our scorer Vishnu Verma.
KL Rahul (India captain): "We have been here for a while. The ODI series didn't go well for us, so we had to turn things in the Tests. The pitch did flatten out but it didn't worry us. There wasn't much on the pitch but their openers batted well. We didn't play Test cricket for a while, and we know nothing comes easy. Happy to start out our Test season well. They (Pujara and Gill) batted brilliantly in the first innings as well. To a position where we were to get 200+ was great. Shreyas Iyer batted well and Rishabh Pant too with his counter-attacking innings and that's how he plays. Very pleasing with the way we bowled, the energy is high. The pitch wasn't assisting but the bowlers did generate something. We won the Test match and I am happy, so we will think about what we need to do in the second match."
Kuldeep Yadav, Player of the Match: "To be very honest, really happy with my performance (both with bat and ball). In the first innings, the wicket was a bit quicker, the bowl was coming onto the bat nicely. It slowed down in the second innings and had to work on it. Wrist-spinners have more reps in the ball and it becomes difficult for the batters to pick up the variation and step down the track. In the past year, I have worked on my rhythm. Have worked to be more aggressive as a bowler."
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh captain): "I thought it was a good wicket to bat on. We played a Test match after 5-6 months, but that shouldn't be an excuse for how we performed. Credit to India for how they played in the game. (On Zakir) He has performed exceedingly well in the domestic circuit and was selected on the basis of it and he did really well in the Test match. You can't bowl well in one inning and bad in the other one. Similarly can't bat well in one inning and not in the other one."
We'll be back shortly for the post-match presentation
Bangladesh came into the day with four wickets in hand. With Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan unbeaten at the crease with 241 runs remaining, one would have imagined some fight from the Tigers. Yes, flight from the home team but with a plan.

Mehidy showcased his intentions by smacking a boundary off Mohammad Siraj in the first ball of the day, it was followed by Shakib freeing his arms against Axar Patel from the other end. However, Siraj, in his second over, took Mehidy and India got their required opening.

The Bangladesh skipper continued his assault, scoring the 30th Test fifty of his career and second against India. Shakib kept playing with the all-guns-blazing approach, but he played one too many strokes as Kuldeep Yadav castled him.

In no time, the two Indian left-arm tweakers cleaned up the tail for India as Bangladesh got tumbled out for 324 runs. However, against strong Indian bowling, it was a solid hand played by Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan in the second innings.
113.2 A Patel to T Islam
W Knocked him over! And the game is done and dusted!! India have taken a 1-0 lead in the series. They needed 4 wickets on Day 5 and have wrapped this up pretty quickly. This one comes back in with the arm. Length ball, zips back in and castles the stumps as Taijul can't get a bat to it. An easy win for India here.

112.5 K Yadav to E Hossain
W An easy catch taken by Shreyas Iyer at short leg, Hossain departs!! Indian are almost through!! Second wicket of the day for the Chinaman. That spins into the right-hander off the deck and takes the edge of Hossain's blade to be gobbled by Iyer at short leg. Back of a length delivery to turn back in sharply from outside the off stump. Keeps a touch low, Ebadot hangs back and offers a dead bat but only to give an easy catch.
112.4 K Yadav to E Hossain
0 Turns off the deck and thuds Hossain on his front pad. Full on the middle and off, the batter fails to get any bat to it.
112.3 K Yadav to E Hossain
0 Leg-break fuller length ball. Hossain plays it back to Kuldeep.
112.2 K Yadav to E Hossain
0 Hossain stands up to a length ball that turns into him and the batter blocks it off.
112.1 K Yadav to E Hossain
0 Legbreak to the righty. Full on the off, Hossain prods on and fends it towards covers.
