That concludes the presentation ceremony and that's it from our coverage of the 14th fixture of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 between Sri Lanka Women and Malaysia Women from Sylhet International Cricket StadiumWe hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Shashank Surly and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Tune in for the 15th fixture between Bangladesh Women and India Women, which will begin shortly. See you there!
Malsha Shehani (Player of the match): “I am really about my performance. As a newcomer, I feel like I am doing good for my team. The wicket was really good for the spinners and I just bowled in the right areas. I just bowled according to my plan and things went in our favor.”
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Captain): "Actually, I am not happy about our batting performance today. As a top team, we should have posted a good total but we lost a couple of wickets early on, and since we could never really come back. There were some wrong shot selections and we can’t blame it on the wicket. There was a bit of moisture in this surface and we failed to adjust to the conditions.”
Winifred Duraisingam (Malaysia Women Captain): "The girls bowled well and fielded well, but we were lacking in the batting. This was our game to win, but we have thrown it away, the batters were rushing too much and didn't spend more time in the middle and we failed badly. Our batters know what to expect from such big teams, but we were taken by surprise with the bowling variations and the girls will learn from this experience and develop their game better."
Malaysian camp are in a complete shock and they just can't believe what has happened in the last thirty minutes. Sri Lanka women have come out strong with the ball in hand as a upset was looming around them after their hapless batting performance in the first innings. Sri Lanka have blown apart the Malaysians for just 33 runs in 9.5 overs and they win the game comfortably in the end by 72 runs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, the Malysian bowling attack were all through them and did a commendable job to restrict the strong Sri Lankan side to just 105 runs. Only Oshadi Ranasinghe, Chamari Athapaththu and Nilakshi de Silva were able to cross 20-run mark in this game. Sasha Azmi was the star with the ball as she picked 2/10 from her four overs and Hamizah Hashim got 2/23 from her four overs.

Malaysia didn't have a lot to chase but the pitch was staying low in the second half and the Sri Lankan bowlers couldn't have asked for a better condition to bowl, Malaysia were hugely dented in the powerplay as they were reeling at 23/4. Sugandika Kumari was on top form with the new ball, got two quick wickets in two legal deliveries, which provided the opening for the Lankan lions, some confusions in the running let the Malaysians slip further away in this game.

Malsha Shehani was the star with the ball, scalped 4 wickets for 2 runs in her 1.5 overs, which bamboozled the Malaysian batters and dismantled them from 31/4 to 33 allout in real quick time. Only Elsa Hunter made it to double figures, her 15-ball 18 was no way enough to carry her side towards victory against the Lankan lions as 7 Malaysian batters failed to open their account.

Sri Lanka are now equal on points with India and Pakistan at the top of the table, with the net run rate fractionating the sides in the top three spots, Malaysia succumbed to their fifth straight loss and have a lot of work in their last game against Thailand tomorrow.
9.5 M Shehani to Syuhada
W HUGE APPEAL AND GIVEN!  A disastrous inning for Malaysia comes to an end. It was fuller and quick, skidding on the middle and leg, Syuhada tries to steer that towards on side but wears that on her front pad and the Umpire has no hesitation in raising the finger. The Malaysian team has been crumbled for 33 and Sri Lanka has won this encounter by 72 runs.
9.4 M Shehani to Syuhada
0 Flighted on the fuller length and quicker again in the air, Syuhada clips that towards square leg for a dot.
9.3 M Shehani to Syuhada
0 Tossed up on the fuller length and quicker in the air, Syuhada nudges that towards mid-wicket, no run. Shehani misses out on a hat-trick.
Shehani is on a hattrick then!!

9.2 M Shehani to A Eleesa
W ANOTHER WICKET! TWO IN TWO! Shehani is on a hat trick. It was a quick flipper on the good-length, skidding onto the middle and leg, Eleesa clears her front leg and looked to whip that towards the on-side but gets beaten by the pace and wears that on her back pad. The Umpire has no hesitation in raising the finger.
9.1 M Shehani to Natsya
W WICKET! The Malaysian side is crumbling like a house of cards. Natsya departs on this occasion and Malaysia is 8 down now. It was tossed up on the length and sharply turned into the middle, Natsya stays deep and looks to block it but gets beaten by the turn and the ball crashes the stumps.
