Player Bio

Born on 5th June 1995, Malsha Shehani hails from Matara, and bowls gentle medium-pace while being a handy lower middle-order batter.

Malsha played club cricket till 2016 for FOG-Seenigama Ladies, Southern Province Women, and Ruhuna Province Women in the 2014 edition of the SLC Women's Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament.

At just 20, the Deiyandara-born allrounder represented Sri Lanka A during the 2016 Women's A-Team Tri-Series, which included Australia A, England A, and the hosts. She tallied almost 50 runs and managed 3 wickets in the series, including a flashy 31 and 1/37 in a losing cause against the Three Lions.

The budding allrounder made her ODI debut in 2017 against India Women, at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. It wasn't the greatest of debuts, as she scored 11 and went wicketless, in her only ODI appearance till date.

During the Women's T20 Asia Cup in 2018, Malsha met India again on her T20I debut in Kuala Lumpur, and yet again her side was on the losing side.

After a four-year-long exile from international cricket, Shehani returned to the T20I side in 2022, against India, where Lanka scripted a historic victory against their neighbours.

The 27-year-old represented her country at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and will wear the Lankan jersey once again during the upcoming Women's T20 Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
