That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Akshay Bhide here, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Saipavan Janaki and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Until next time, cheers and good day.
Sidra Ameen: "The wicket is very difficult to bat on. But I played my shots and kept backing my strengths. We know Bangladesh have a good bowling attack. They bowled well but they could have executed their plans better. They bowled very slow and it gave us an opportunity to score runs. We played with a straight bat and it helped us in the chase."
Sidra Ameen is named the Player of the Match for his knock of 36* off 35 balls.
Bismah Maroof | Pakistan Skipper: "It was a clinical performance from our bowlers. We picked up early wickets and didn't allow the opposition to get away. We are working on our bowling and happy to see the bowlers execute their plans. Bangladesh are a good side and we knew we had to be on our toes today. Today's performance was good but our middle order isn't getting time to bat."
Nigar Sultana | Bangladesh Skipper: "The top-order collapse was the reason for our loss. The surface was difficult to bat on. We have batted here many times but I feel we were 30-40 runs short. The bowlers failed to execute the plans. They bowled in the leg side and we need to improve. We need to work on that one in our upcoming games"
Time for the post-match presentation.
Akshay: That’s the end of the match. A solid performance from Pakistan Women with the ball set up things nicely for them before the batters stepped up to chase down 71 on a tricky surface. Pakistan Women beat Bangladesh Women by nine wickets and retain their top spot in the points table. With this big win, they have boosted their net run rate and the hosts need to get back to the drawing board quickly to get back to winning ways in their next fixture.

Defending 71 was always going to be a difficult task. The surface wasn’t that easy to bat on but Pakistan’s openers in Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen made sure they pounced on anything loose. They were helped by some poor bowling from the hosts as they scored at a brisk rate. They put 40 at the end of the powerplay.

It looked like they would chase down the total without losing a wicket before Salma Khatun dismissed Muneeba Ali on 14, with the 49-run opening stand coming to an end in the eighth over. Bismah Maroof joined Ameen and both remained unbeaten on 12 and 36 respectively to guide their side across the line with 46 balls to spare.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision paid off as they got off to a brilliant start. The bowlers ran through Bangladesh’s top order as they picked up three quick wickets. Bangladesh Women reeled at 12/3 at the end of the powerplay. Pakistan bowlers bowled beautifully and kept the hosts under constant pressure. Nigar Sultana held the innings from one end and was supported by Lata Mondal from the other end.

Sultana and Mondal put 24 between them before the latter departed on 12. Sultana fell on 17 in trying to up the ante. Experienced campaigner Salma Khatun remained unbeaten on 29-ball 24 but the other batters failed to contribute. Bangladesh Women managed to score only 70 at the end of their 20 overs. Diana Baig and Nida Dar picked up two wickets apiece. Sadia Iqbal and Omaima Sohail also chipped in with a wicket each as they did a fantastic job in the first half. The opening batters then stepped up and helped them chase down the total with ease.
Stick around for the post-match presentations.
