Chasing 227, India Capitals got off to a poor start losing Gambhir for
just 1. They were 3 down inside the powerplay as they lost D Smith (24) and
Masakadza (10). D Ramdin and Ross Taylor added 62 for the fourth wicket. Ramdin
was dismissed for 13. Taylor continued in his merry way and scored a terrific
84 off just 39 balls. Ashley Nurse coming in at 6 scored an unbeaten 60 off
just 28 balls to get his team over the line. He was well supported by L Plunkett
at the end who got a quickfire 20* off 9 as they chased down the huge total
with 3 balls to spare.
Panesar was the pick of the bowlers for the Kings as he got 1 for 26 in
his 4. Karia, Sreesanth, and S Tyagi got a wicket each but was on the expensive
side. Edwards was taken to cleaners as well as he gave away 54 runs and got 2
wickets. Poor bowling effort from the Kings tonight and they will play the Gujarat
Giants in the Eliminator tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, Bhilwara Kings had won the toss and decided to bat first.
This seems to be a fair decision so far as they have scored a mountain of runs.
Morne Van Wyk left after scoring 4 runs off of 4 balls, and the Kings didn't get the start they desired. After being dropped by wicketkeeper Ramdin on the first ball of his at-bat as Shane Watson, they were able to score 57 runs in the powerplay with the loss of just one wicket. Watson never looked back after that and started scoring at a quick pace.
After getting dropped a couple of times, Shane Watson got caught on the third occasion as he departed after scoring a quick 65 runs off 39 balls. Porterfield departed after scoring 59 runs off 37 balls.
Yusuf Pathan in the middle started batting at his reputation and
departed after scoring quick 48 runs off 24 balls. In the end, Bishnoi with a
quick knock of 36 runs off 11 balls helped the Kings score 226 runs.
An Outstanding Chase by the INDIA CAPITALS has sealed their spot in the finals.
