Milestone
That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter between the India Capitals and the Gujarat Giants. It was Gujarat Giants' day tonight as they sneaked away with a victory. Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Hitesh Peddurwar signing off along with my co-commentator Saiprasad Kagne and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Until then stay safe and have a wonderful weekend....
Virender Sehwag(Winning Captain):" Yes the way Kevin batted was exceptional when I was batting I just told him to settle in the middle and it will get easy for you. Even, I thought to settle in the middle but unfortunately, it was not my day. I am doing good my body is good at the moment. In the next game, Gayle will be coming so we can rotate the openers."
Jacques Kallis(India Capitals - Captain): "Yeah, it was a great treat to watch Nurse hitting those magnificent sixes all over the ground. Specially, in that situation where we were quite behind in the game, he hold his nerves and finishes our innings well. Regarding Tambe, well you never know how couple of wickets can change the game in your favour. In the end, pretty happy with the performances and we'll be looking forward throughout the tournament."
Ashley Nurse(Player of the match): "I just thought of getting settled in the middle and then accelerating the innings. Once I got settled in the middle it was just to see the ball and hit it and I was successful in it. Good to contribute to the team but would have been happy if we would have won this game."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!!!
We had an absolute run fest here today at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata today. It was Ashley Nurse in the first innings who dominated the innings with his century and in the second innings, it was Kevin O'Brien who scored 107 runs off 61 balls and took his team over the line. After loads of drama at the end, Gujarat Giants have sneaked away with a victory tonight they have won 3 by wickets.

While chasing a target off 180 runs, Gujarat Giants got off to a good start. Virender Sehwag and Kevin O'Brien opened the innings for Gujarat Giants. Sehwag looked a bit rusty though his partner Kevin O'Brien looked in sublime touch today. The duo stitched a partnership of 40 runs for the first wicket. Sehwag departed after scoring 6 runs off 10 balls. Kevin O'Brien didn't stop as he was hitting the boundaries with ease and he kept the run-rate ticking.

Parthiv Patel(24 off 13)  joined Kevin O'Brien in the middle and they glued a partnership of 70 runs for the second innings. Kevin O'Brien played an anchor role and dominated the chase completely.

Kevin O'Brien didn't shy off in hitting the boundaries in the regular intervals. He didn't let the required run-rate to pile up. He was accompanied by Yashpal Singh(21 off 20) in the middle they stitched a partnership of 59 runs for the third wicket and took their team closer to the target. Kevin O'Brien was the man of the moment for the Gujarat giants as he scored 107 runs in 61 balls. He hoicked three sixes and 15 fours in his innings.

From a bowling point of view, India Capitals' bowlers looked a bit rusty throughout the Innings. They leaked too many extras at the start of the Innings. Pravin Tambe was the pick of the bowlers for India Capitals as he scalped three wickets and gave away just 28 runs in his 3.4 overs. But it was too late for India Capitals as he scalped a couple of wickets in the 19th over, Gujarat Capitals needed only one run to win till then.

Earlier in the day Gujarat Giants won the toss and invited India Capitals to bat first. Hamilton Masakadza and Solomon Mire opened the Innings for India Capitals. They got off to a disastrous start. They lost 4 wickets with just 34 runs on the board.

But then came the big man Ashley Nurse. He held the one end pretty well and kept ticking the run rate. Once he got settled in the middle he started scoring at a brisk rate. At one stage it looked like India Capitals would not be able to get a score of 120. But Ashley Nurse played an incredible inning off 103* runs off 43 balls with the help of 9 humungous sixes and 8 fours. Ashley Nurse's fantastic innings helped India Capitals to get to a total of 179 runs.

Thisara Perera was the pick of the bowlers for Gujarat Giants as he scalped a couple of wickets and gave away just 16 runs in his 3-over spell.KP Appanna and Rayad Emirit scalped a couple of wickets apiece. Graeme Swann grabbed one wicket.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony!!!
