That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do join us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer Raju Khariya. Bye Bye.
Jeet Raval (Northern Brave Skipper): "It's really a round performance by us. Yes, the way my bowlers performed today and Clarke played a majestic inning and got the team close to the target, the rest of the work was done very well by Cooper."
Peter Younghusband (Wellington Firebirds Skipper): "We thought it was going to be a good wicket to bat on. They adapted to the conditions quickly and their spinners bowled beautifully and put us under the pump. We looked good in the middle but it is what it is and we have to take the learnings out of this match. We gave away everything but having wickets in hand in the last overs would have helped us."
Tim Pringle (Player of the Match): "When we came out to play, the surface was a little helpful for us, which we took full advantage of and pushed the opposition team on the back foot. And I am very happy that I have been able to contribute to my team's victory and we would like to show this momentum in the upcoming matches as well."
10:11 AM IST | Akshay: Henry Cooper finishes things in style. A solid all-round effort from Northern Brave sees them beat Wellington Firebirds by six wickets. Brave hand Firebirds their first loss in this edition of Super Smash and they were brilliant today. Their bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict the Firebirds to a low total before chasing it down comfortably.

Chasing 137, Brave lost Tim Seifert on one in the second over. Katene Clarke looked good and played some beautiful strokes. It was a short stay for Jeet Raval as he departed on 10. Henry Cooper along with Clarke steadied the ship and kept the scoreboard ticking. The partnership was building nicely until Clarke fell one short of his fifty.

Nick Kelly dismissed Frederick Walker on one in the same over. Cooper from the other end played a well-composed knock and was well-supported by Peter Bocock. Both made sure that there were no more hiccups in the chase. Cooper and Bocock remained unbeaten on 52 and 19 respectively to take their side across the line with eight balls to spare. Nick Kelly picked up two wickets for the Firebirds but they failed to defend the total.

Earlier, the Firebirds were asked to bat first. They didn’t have the best of starts as there was a collapse early in the innings and they were reeling at 15/3 in the fourth over. Troy Johnson was joined by Nathan Smith and both led the recovery work. Both put 48 between them before Johnson fell on 19. Smith was going strong from one end but lacked support from the other end.

The Brave bowlers bowled beautifully and kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Smith departed on a 30-ball 35. They lost their way a bit but cameos from Logan van Beek (20*) and Peter Younghusband (21*) lower down the order helped them post 136 on the board. Brave bowlers picked up eight wickets in total, with Tim Pringle finishing with three. The batters then contributed to help them chase down the total in the penultimate over.
18.4 Beek to H Cooper
4 FOURRRR!!! AND THAT'S IT! Fuller delivery, on the off. Cooper goes inside out over covers as the ball races away to the deep extra cover fence. He brings up his fifty as he finishes the game in style. Northern Brave won the game by 6 wickets.
18.3 Beek to H Cooper
0 In the channel and outside off. Cooper defends it through the off side.
18.2 Beek to H Cooper
6 SIXXX!! What an effort by Robinson but all goes in vain. Back of a length delivery on the leg stump line. Cooper won't miss out on that. Helps its along its way and it clears the deep square leg fence for a biggie.
18.1 Beek to P Bocock
1lb On a length, nipping back into the middle. Bocock fails to connect on the flick and it deflects on the pads to the off side and scampers across a single.
9 required from the last 2 overs.
