That’s a wrap from our side as well. I hope you enjoyed the Finn Allen show. Once again a very happy new year to all our viewers.🎈 We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌
Peter Younghusband (Wellington Captain): "A complete performance from our side today. Yeah, I mean they (Allen and Kelly) have done it twice in a row now and it's pretty impressive to watch them. A tough game is coming up next and I hope we can keep the momentum going."
Cole McConchie (Canterbury Captain): "Yes one of those days where we were outplayed. We have to erase this quickly. Certainly, losing three in the powerplay meant we were behind the eight ball. That's never ideal and we were on the back foot. Interesting one loss at home. The boys are giving their best. We have to erase this game and come back stronger in the coming games. We are not far off from our best. I think these two days rest gives us an opportunity to reset and reboot and come back stronger."
Finn Allen (Gamechanger of the Match): "Cheers mate. Yes, we started well with the ball and that set things up here. Yes, Kelly started well and that helps me a lot.  Yes, I mean I thought a lower total allows you to get through the innings, and happy to do that well. A couple of days home and then off to Pakistan for the ODIS. Looking forward to it."
8:46 AM IST | Deepak: A swashbuckling inning 💥 from Finn Allen (78 off 37) has helped Wellington to thump Canterbury by 8 wickets with 49 balls to spare.

Earlier, after deciding to bat first in the first inning, Canterbury posted 132 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Cole McConchie led the batting as he was the top scorer for Canterbury, scoring 35 runs off 36 balls. On the flip side, Nathan Smith, Rachin Ravindra, and Peter Younghusband each contributed a couple of wickets for the Wellington.

In pursuit of Canterbury’s 132 runs, Wellington got off to a flying start as both their openers, Finn Allen and Nick Kelly, started destroying the bowlers from the very first over, and the pair glued a partnership of 58 runs in 4.3 overs. Nick Kelly departed after scoring a quick 24 runs off 12 balls.

Rachin Ravindra joined Finn Allen in the middle, and the pair continued the similar approach of batting as they started to score briskly. Finn Allen, on this occasion, completed his 16th domestic half-century but failed to remain unbeaten till the end as he departed for 78 runs off 37 balls.👏👏 Rachin Ravindra remained unbeaten on 19 runs off 16 balls and sealed the game for his side by 8 wickets with 49 balls to spare.

On the flip side, William ORourke and Ed Nuttall were the only bowlers for Canterbury to extract one wicket each.

Stay tuned for the presentations.....
