So, that's it from this game. Thank you very much for joining us and following us with all the rain updates and the little action that we brought you from Moe. Do switch tabs to catch the final game of the league stage of the Women's Big Bash League 2022 where the Adelaide Strikers take on the Sydney Thunder. Remember a win for the Strikers will take them to second position in the points table ahead of the Heat. Then the Eliminator and Challenger will take place in Adelaide. There is the big India New Zealand 2nd T20I coming your way from the Bay Oval weather permitting as there is a rain threat there as well.

For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time goodbye and cheers!
After a rain delay of almost 90 minutes, play finally got underway at Moe with Brisbane Heat being asked to bat first in a 10-over contest. It was the Danielle Wyatt show from the get-go as the English international smashed a magnificent 52 off 24 balls. Her innings powered Heat to 104/5 in 10 overs. Grace Harris got 13 off 13 balls while cameos from skipper Jess Jonassen 11* off 6 balls and Amelia Kerr 10* off 6 balls also contributed to the total. 3 extras contributed to the total as well.

From the Melbourne Stars' bowling point of view, Sasha Moloney was the pick of the bowlers with 2/12 in 2 overs. She was ably supported by Sophie Day 2/19 in 2 overs. Kim Garth picked up the other wicket but went the distance. Alice Capsey kept things tight despite being wicketless in her 2 overs.

Chasing a stiff 105 for the win, the Stars got off to a rollicking start. Lauren Winfield-Hill and Sophie Reid went all guns blazing and took the attack to the opposition. Both the openers looked unstoppable as Nicola Hancock was taken to the cleaners giving away 20 runs in the over he bowled. Jess Kerr also went the distance. Lauren Winfield-Hill remained unbeaten on 22* off 13 balls while Sophie Reid got out at the stroke of the rain interruption as she fell to Amelia Kerr for 19 off 11 balls. Alice Capsey had just joined Winfield-Hill in the middle when the thunder and lightning alongside rain brought an abrupt end to the proceedings.

Amelia Kerr picked up the only wicket of this innings while Jess Kerr went for 15 runs and Nicola Hancock went for 20 runs. Skipper Jess Jonassen gave away 9 runs in her only over. They gave away 8 extras as well in the chase and were under the pump. Stars would have gone on to win the game, but alas the weather gives the Heat the valuable one point. They haven't sealed the second spot in the points table yet.

So, the match has been abandoned due to rain as both the teams share the spoils with one point each.
11:22 AM IST: The news from Moe is that play has been abandoned. Both teams will be compelled to share the spoils here. The Heat will be lucky to get a point as the Stars were cruising to the target.
