That's it from our coverage of match 51, the Sydney bash from the North Sydney Oval. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer Dushyant Madhukar. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from across the globe.
Ashleigh Gardner (Player of the Match): "Yes, a great day in the office. I was happy with my innings and would have liked to be more clinical with my stroke-making. I started slow, but that one over from Lauren Smith gave me the momentum and got a great total for the side. I am having fun and enjoying my cricket. Last season I wasn't enjoying it, but this year I am enjoying my cricket. I am chuffed to be in the final and to host it here would be great. We have one more game on Sunday and then the finals. Looking forward to it."
The Sydney Sixers have got another win in the battle of two Sydneys as they defeat the Thunder by 18 runs. Sixers lost the toss and were invited to bat first on a tremendous batting surface. They managed to score 178 for the loss of six wickets heavily on the back of attacking knocks from Ashleigh Gardner (85 off 48), Ellyse Perry (45 off 30) and from Nicole Bolton (24* off 15) at the backend.

Samantha Bates bowled a good spell finishing with 3/21 but other bowlers failed however Sammy-Jo Johnson, Hannah Darlington and Belinda Vakarewa chipped in with a wicket apiece. The Thunder got off to a very good start thanks to openers Tammy Beaumont (51) and Phoebe Litchfield (30) as they added 81 for the first wicket.

Sophie Ecclestone got the Sixers their first breakthrough in the ninth over as she dismissed her English team mate Beaumont. Ashleigh Gardner complemented with another wicket in the very next over as the wickets kept tumbling from then onwards.

Rachael Haynes (29* off 26) kept on batting and added 31 with Sammy-Jo Johnson for the sixth wicket but then the target appeared a bit too far from reach. Kate Peterson (3/27) continued her newly found bowling form as she was the pick of the bowlers.

Sophie Ecclestone was brilliant again with figures of 2/28. Ash Gardner and Lauren Cheatle chipped in with a wicket apiece as the Sixers get bigger and better at the top of the points table!

18.4 L Cheatle to S Johnson
W WICKET! Length ball here, Johnson goes for the big one and gets the top edge that goes straight up in the air as Healy backtracks and takes the catch with the gloves. The change of angle to over the wicket works for Cheatle as Johnson departs and with it goes the Hopes of the Thunder as well. 6 down now.
18.3 L Cheatle to S Johnson
6 SIX! Fuller length and in the slot, Johnson picks it and lofts it away over the midwicket region as the ball sails into the stands for the maximum. Johnson is turning it on here.
