So that's it from The Royal London Cup Final's coverage as Kent has lifted the trophy after a long time, and they deserve it. A great farewell for Darren Stevens in his last match for Kent. Both the team played a great brand of cricket, but it was Kent's day today. This is me, Chinmay Ranjan signing off on behalf of my fellow commentators, Tugral and Akshaya Krishna Polya, and the scorer, Ashok. Stay tuned to our network for more cricket updates around the globe. Till then, good Bye and Amigos :)..
Joe Denly collects the Royal London Cup 2022 silverware, and everyone poses for the photograph. Now the party begins, which will go all over the night, the next day and so on!
Joe Denly (Kent Captain): "It means a heck of a lot for me and my team. The belief in the change room was the real thing after we had a bad start in the tournament. I think after the start we had, losing the wicket in the first over and when you are into the final, you need a good start, and Evison is a very good lad as he played a gem of an innings, and that showed how mature he is.

Stevens is been a phenomenal player, and he is a hero for everyone that can listen through the support of the audience. This is his last match, and he will lift the trophy. Being on the right side and lifting the trophy is an awesome moment."
Keaton Jennings (Lancashire Captain): "Most likely, we simply weren't at our best today. A good cricket match. I think it was about par, quite gettable, and the way we started, and we carried on.

Just that we consistently lost wickets. We also would have batted first because that determines how the game will proceed. Thanks to Kent. They performed admirably and merited the award."
Joey Evison: "It was such a good day. I am really happy to be performing in the final. Yeah, overall a great day in my career. Yeah, it is great coming back into the team, Kent. Happy to perform here.

During the mid-innings, I thought the score was above par. Yeah, it was coming a bit slowly. Happy to be performing on the big day. Our bowlers did a great job."
The Player of the Match is Joey Evison.
The Player of the Summer is Wiaan Mulder from Leicestershire.
The match-officials receive their medal!
It is time for presentations!
Hamidullah Qadri: "Feels outstanding. I'm grateful to the management for providing me with opportunities, and Stevens always advises me to keep things straightforward and it succeeded."
Nathan Gilchrist: "Nothing much different. I just kept things simple. Just trusted the process and kept believing it. I am happy with this performance.

Personally, I thought we had a good total. The ball was sticking on the surface bit. Yeah, the partnerships between the bowlers, me, Joey and all were good. Stevens is a legend. It is a fitting end to his career."
22:57 IST : So it is Kent who will lift the trophy of The Royal London Cup 2022 as they have defeated Lancashire in the finals by 21 runs.

After winning the toss and choosing to Bat first, Kent posted the target of 307 runs for Lancashire. All thanks to some brilliant batting performance by Joey Evison, who made 97 runs, along with the skipper Joe Denly who scored 78 runs of 69 balls, and some useful contributions of Alex Blake, Ollie Robinson, and Darren Stevens in the later part of the innings.

Came into chase the total, Lancashire got off to a flying start with their skipper Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells adding 40 runs in just 4 overs before Wells fell off to Stewart. Then it was Steven Croft and Keaton Jennings who held the team together as Jennings got departed on well-made 72 runs of 62 balls. After that, Steven Croft single-handedly took Lancashire near the victory, but his innings of 72 runs were not enough as he did not get any proper support from the other end, which resulted in the defeat of Lancashire.

Kent bowlers were quite good with their line, length, and mostly with their change in speed. Grant Stewart and Nathan Gilchrist were the picks of the bowlers, with 3 wickets each into their bag along. Evison was the man of the finals who was everywhere with bat ball and in the field too, as he took 2 wickets and took an awesome catch too. Podmore and Qadri both took 1 wicket each and contributed to their team in lifting the trophy.
KENT SPITFIRES ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Darren Stevens gets a fitting farewell for his long career!
48.4 J Evison to L Hurt
W BOWLED' EM! Evison cleans up Liam with beauty! Yorker delivery is right on the money. Liam stays deep in the crease as he tries to defend it but gets beaten on the inside edge and the ball disturbs the timbers after sneaking in the gap between bat and pad. Evison is delighted with that one. That's the thrilling close-encounter but Kent Spitfires won the game by 21 runs.
48.4 J Evison to L Hurt
WD WIDE! Length and wide of off. Liam sees off and lets it go through to the keeper. The umpire has given it wide. He has to reload that one.
48.3 J Evison to W Williams
1 Sprays on the leg stump line, Will goes across and turns it to the deep square leg region to steal a run.
48.2 J Evison to W Williams
2 Back of a length delivery on the middle and leg stump line. Will pulls this towards the deep mid wicket region, away from the deep fielder and scampers across a quick couple.
48.1 J Evison to L Hurt
1 Evison is back into the attack. Length on the off. Liam taps it towards the short cover region and takes a single.
