Aaron Finch (Player of the Match): "I knew we needed to get a platform. The wicket got better as we went along. Both teams missed a trick a little bit. I tried to take it deep and delayed the surge. Matt Critchley played well. Yes, I had to target Siddle as we wanted to take the pressure off. John Wells played well and was a calming influence. Fawad's wicket was good as well. Alex played well. Hopefully, a nice performance today and we are happy we are in the finals."
Aaron Finch is the Player of the Match.
5:05 PM IST: A comfortable win for the Melbourne Renegades as they win this game by 6 wickets with 10 balls left. With this win, they go through to the playoffs while the Strikers bow out of the competition. It was the Aaron Finch show as the captain led from the front to secure the win as they go to 3rd in the points table.

Chasing a competitive total of 143 for the win, Melbourne Renegades lost three early wickets as Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh and Sam Harper went quickly to leave the side at 16/3. But it was the skipper Aaron Finch's show from thereon, as he anchored the chase and paced it perfectly. He was going at less than run a ball at one stage but picked it up to finish with an unbeaten 63* off 54 balls. He was ably supported by Matthew Critchley as he scored 35 off 29 balls. Jonathan Wells was unbeaten on 20* off 19 balls as the Renegades got to the target in 18.2 overs. As many as 16 extras were given by the fielding side.

A wicket apiece for Matthew Short, Wes Agar, and Peter Siddle. There was a runout as well. All of the bowlers bowled well in patches. Siddle was good early on. But at the end of the day, they had an under-par score to defend and lost the game to bow out of the competition.

Earlier in the game, the Adelaide Strikers lost Matthew Short for a duck after being asked to bat first. Skipper Travis Head struggled for his 19 off 32 balls. But it was the Alex Carey show as he held the innings together on a difficult track. He scored 65 off 47 balls and saved the Strikers. Adam Hose scored 11 off 7 balls while Harry Nielsen remained unbeaten on 18* off 13 balls. 8 extras were given by the fielding side as they ended their innings at 142/7 in 20 overs.

Fawad Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for the Melbourne Renegades as he had exceptional figures of 3/17 in 4 overs. Tom Rogers bowled well as he gave away just 12 runs in his 4 overs and picked up a wicket as well. A wicket apiece for Kane Richardson and Rocchiccioli.

So, a win for the Renegades over the Strikers by 6 wickets with 10 balls left to climb up to 3rd in the points table. They are through to the playoffs while the Strikers bow out.
