Milestone
That is it from the match between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers, with the latter making a league double with another thumping win. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi brought you all the live-action of this one-sided encounter. We will meet again in another match. Until then, it is a goodbye!

1:14 PM IST | A brutal display of cricket by Perth Scorchers got them another massive win over Adelaide Strikers! They are a team to beat in the BBL!

Earlier in the match, Adelaide Strikers won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision to bat first backfired on the Strikers, losing four wickets in the powerplay. They didn’t recover from that as the side collapsed a big time, getting all-out for just 92 runs in 17 overs. Only Adam Hose could get some timing, scoring 30 runs off 23 balls. The rest of the batters suffered to face the Scorchers' sharp bowling attack. For Perth Scorchers, Peter Hatzoglou (3-0-14-3), David Payne (3-0-20-3), and Lance Morris (4-0-26-3) scalped three wickets, while Andrew Tye picked a wicket.

Chasing a total of 93 runs to win, Perth Scorchers didn’t get to a good start, losing Cameron Bancroft (7 off 6) through an unnecessary run out in the second over. Stephen Eskinazi (17 off 12) couldn’t continue for longer and was beaten and stumped in the bowling of Cameron Boyce just after the first powerplay. But then Aaron Hardie and Jos Inglis added 54 runs for the third wicket, taking the team to the cusp of a big win. Hardie continued his dream tournament with a solid knock of 43 runs from 30 balls, getting out with five runs away from the target. Inglis (22* off 16) hung on till the end and finished the match with a boundary in the 12th over, taking the team home with 7 wickets and 53 balls remaining.

With this win, the Scorchers remain at the top of the points table, while the Strikers too remain in fifth place, making their chances of qualification a little more difficult with a match in hand.

1:07 PM IST | Time for a drinks! Perth Scorchers really don't need it, as they are on the brink of a big win. But this is mandatory as we are at the halfway stages of the chase in terms of the overs. Can the visitors win it in the next over?
