2:00 PM IST | WITH THAT, THE BRISBANE HEAT HAVE COMPLETED A CONSECUTIVE SECOND VICTORY IN THE REVERSE FIXTURE! The Men in Black defeat their counterparts by 17 runs to take home the crucial points!

Chasing 155 on this surface was going to be a tricky one. The Strikers lost their skipper Travis Head early in the innings. Matthew Short along with Chris Lynn started building a partnership for the second wicket. Both played some brilliant strokes and kept finding the boundaries regularly. Matthew Kuhnemann broke the 37-run stand when he dismissed in-form Chris Lynn on 22.  In no time, Heat got another breakthrough in the form of Alex Carey (2 off 3).

Strikers were down at 42-3 and then the duo of Matthew Short and Adam Hose gave some hope to the Adelaide-based franchise. The duo glued a partnership of 40 runs together with Short (39 runs off 30 balls) taking on the bowlers after playing around the ground for singles and doubles for a while. James Bazley dismissed both the Strikers’ set-batters and it helped the Heat pull back things. After the dismissal of both batters, the process of falling wickets started, and no batter could capitalize on their innings. The Strikers had to concede a 17-run loss as a result.

Heat's bowling attack was led by James Bazley, who claimed three wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. Matthew Kuhnemann scalped a couple of wickets while Michael Neser, Mitchell Swepson, and Spencer Johnson bagged a solitary wicket a piece each.

A quick recap of the first inning. Brisbane Heat were off to a steady start as they scored 34 runs in the powerplay with the loss of just one wicket. Brown departed in the 6th over after scoring 26 off 16 balls. Marnus Labuschange and Matt Renshaw kept the run rate ticking and steered the ship pretty well. At the halfway mark, Brisbane Heat were 86/2. This duo glued a 42-run stand for the third wicket. The Heat had the worst power surge as they lost 3 wickets and scored just 12 runs off it. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out to a total of 154 in 19.3 overs. On the flip side, Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers for Adelaide Strikers. He was economical and scalped two wickets for his team. Harry Conway grabbed 3 wickets.

In the end, the Brisbane Heat outclassed their opponents in all departments to take home points and celebration and jumped to the seventh position.
