Match Details
Earlier in the game, Hobart Hurricanes put into bat first and got off to a roaring start from the start to the finish. The openers Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott started it all with an 88-run stand for the first wicket inside 8 overs. Jewell scored 54 off 25 balls while McDermott scored 57 off 30 balls. Thereafter, Zak Crawley came and played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 54* off 28 balls. He was ably supported by Tim David who smacked an unbeaten 39* off 20 balls as the Hurricanes amassed a massive 229/4 in 20 overs with 6 extras given by the fielding side.
It was a hard day for the Strikers bowlers as most of them
went for runs. Colin de Grandhomme picked up a couple of wickets but went for
45 runs in 4 overs. Matthew Short kept things tight in his 4 overs picking up a
wicket and giving away 34 runs. The other wicket went to Harry Conway who also
went the distance. Despite being wicketless, Rashid Khan was miserly giving
away just 25 runs in 4 overs. This is his final game in this year’s BBL. It turned out to be a good one as Adelaide won the game.
So, a win for the Strikers over the Hurricanes by 7 wickets with 3 balls to spare to move upwards in the points table.
