Well, that's all for today folks! This is Tugral Azmi, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav! The Sydney Thunder with a comprehensive win today but can the Perth Scorchers bounce back? They are now tied for the top with the Perth Scorchers after four straight victories for Thunder. All that and much more on our coverage of the Big Bash League this season! Stay Tuned! See you at the next one!
Oliver Davies (Player of the Match): "Yes, that was the most exciting thing to play with my brother. He got his opportunity and did well. He took my earpods and got them back and my iPad as well. I am not too sure. I am going with a clear mindset and have done well and done well. Just trusting my process has helped me succeed here. Thank You very much."
06:50 PM IST | Tugral: Alex Ross finishes things in style. A solid all-around effort from Sydney Thunder sees them beat Perth Scorchers by six wickets. Thunder hand Scorchers had their second loss in this edition of the Big Bash League and they were brilliant today. Their bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict the home team to a low total before chasing it down comfortably.

A quick recap of the game, after opting to bat first, the decision immediately backfired on the Scorchers as they lost their way in the 8th over and were reduced to 28/4. They were reeling 47/4 at the halfway mark. But it was the skipper Ashton Turner who led the game from the front for his side with an excellent 61 off 37 balls as he held the innings together from a precarious position. Perth ended up with 142/9 in 20 overs.

Disciplined bowling and fielding performance today from the Sydney Thunder. Nathan McAndrew was the pick of the bowlers with 3/29 in 4 overs. Usman Qadir chipped a couple of wickets in his spell. Brendan Doggett and Chris Green also took each wicket of a piece.

In pursuit of 143, Jhye Richardson cushioned an early breakthrough for the Scorchers as in-form Alex Hales departed without opening his account in the fourth delivery of the second over. In no time, Scorchers got another breakthrough in the form of Rilee Rossouw who was dismissed here on a golden duck. However, that was only calm before the storm as Matthew Gilkes, alongside Oliver Davies went all guns blazing as this duo stitched an important partnership of 67 runs for the third wicket. Gilkes departed after scoring 32 off 26. Alex Ross and Davies showed some aggressive approach in the middle but the latter was dismissed after scoring 58 off 47.

Alex Ross from the other end played a well-composed knock and was well-supported by Ben Cutting. Both made sure that there were no more hiccups in the chase. Ross and Cutting remained unbeaten on 41* and 5* respectively to take their side across the line with 18  balls to spare. Jhye Richardson picked up two wickets. Jason Behrendorff and Matthew Kelly bagged a solitary wicket each for the Scorchers but they failed to defend the total.
