That also wraps up our coverage of the 20th fixture of the Big Bash League between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars from Perth. The reigning champions go to the top after three consecutive victories. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Tugral Azmi here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav.
Jhye Richardson ( Player of the match): "Yeah, feeling good. Undoubtedly, the weeks coming up to the competition were a little unsteady due to a lack of practice. Just wonderful to be able to play some cricket outside. I don't think I've ever heard a louder crowd than today when there were two hat-trick opportunities today. Undoubtedly a fantastic experience. Would have preferred to have acquired one, but I anticipate doing so shortly. After the previous evening, it was very clear that there would be some conversations to have. The batters did a wonderful job demonstrating a calm and collected attitude."
7:25 PM IST | WITH THAT PERTH SCORCHERS HAVE SNATCHED A THRILLING VICTORY✌️ IN THE REVERSE GAME! A phenomenal batting performance by Ashton Turner change the course of the game and led his side to victory by 6 wickets.

In pursuit of 136, Luke Wood cushioned an early breakthrough for the Stars as Faf Du Plessis (3 off 5) departed in the fifth delivery of the second over of the innings. Aaron Hardie joined Adam Lyth in the middle. This duo glued a partnership of 29 runs for the second wicket as Hardie departed after scoring 17 off 19. Lyth was dismissed by Stoinis on 35 off 30.

Stars were down at 73-3 and then the duo of Ashton Turner and Josh Inglis gave some hope to the Melbourne-based franchise. The duo glued a partnership of 61 runs together with Turner (53 runs of 26 balls) taking on the bowlers and dealing with them in boundaries. Josh scored an unbeaten 19 off 23 and helped his team cross the victory line.

Stars' bowling attack was led by Luke Wood, who claimed two wickets for 29 runs in 3.3 overs. Nathan Coulter-Nile and Marcus Stoinis also took each wicket of a piece.

Earlier in the day, Melbourne elected to bat after winning the toss but that decision immediately backfired as the Stars were losing wickets at regular intervals. Trent Boult and Hilton Cartwright provided some resistance towards the end, with Cartwright scoring 36 runs off 32 balls and forging a partnership of 49 runs for the 9th wicket with Boult. Boult remained unbeaten till the end, scoring 23 runs off 16 balls and striking the ball beautifully. However, the Stars were ultimately dismissed for 135 runs in 20 overs.

On the flip side, Jhye Richardson was the pick of the bowlers for the Scorchers as he scalped four-fer giving away 25 runs in 4 overs. Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff chipped in with a couple of wickets each and Ashton Agar contributed one wicket.

With this third consecutive victory in their courtyard, Scorchers jumped to the first spot on the point table.
