Shimron Hetmyer (Losing captain): "I guess so (toss was a factor), but at the end of the day, we are professionals, we just have to fight as hard as we can. The guys were fantastic. It's a learning process for us. The guys held their nerves. We did well to get to 140 after, a lot of learning for us."
Rovman Powell (Winning captain): "It's a bit bruised (on the leg injury), hopefully, it'll be worked on tonight and I should be fine. It was difficult (on the chase), they had international spinners, that gave them 12 overs, but I knew the wicket was good to play. It's a short competition and momentum is crucial, this is a good start (two wins out of two games), hopefully, we'll keep it going moving ahead."
Jamaica Tallawahs have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat!! What a fabulous finish we have witnessed, a magnificent effort from Rovman Powell who takes them over the line with 4 balls still remaining!
Earlier in the day, JT won the toss and opted to bowl on a very tricky pitch!! The going was very slow in the beginning after having lost 2 early wickets. Guyana were 22-2 in 8.3 but after that, they changed the gears and got to a formidable total of 143 which looked very difficult. At the halfway mark the Guyana Amazon Warriors side would have been fairly happy with the score they got to eventually.
Jamaica started off in a similar fashion, the going was very slow in the beginning and the spinners of Guyana Amazon Warriors had put them in a commanding position. Brandon King started off well, he was looking solid but was dismissed by Tahir on 32 of 25 balls. Rovman Powell scored 44 of 38 balls, he was slow to start off with but towards the end, he played some magnificent shots and took his team over the line, he was ably helped by Chris Green who hit some brilliant shots at crucial junctures of the game!!
Motie was the pick of the bowlers for Guyana Amazon Warriors, he scalped 2 wickets and gave away only 10 runs in his quota of 4. The rest of the bowlers picked up a wicket each. Romario Shepherd was very expensive giving away 48 runs in his 3.2 overs!!
