The Aussies have clinched the 2 match series with winning both games of the series defeating the West Indies by 31 runs in the 2nd T20 international at Brisbane. West Indies won the toss and elected to chase and got a good start with Australia losing Cameron Green early in the powerplay. David Warner (75) and Aaron Finch (15) then stuck a partnership adding 85 runs for the second wicket.
Some late order hitting from Tim David (42 off 20) ensured Australia got to a safer total at 178/7. Alzarri Joseph was the standout performer with the ball in hand for West Indies with figures of 3-21 in his four overs.West Indies started poorly losing Mayers in the very first over but Johnson Charles (29) and Brandon King (23) added 50 for the second wicket giving some hopes to the Windies fans.
The Australian bowlers then put up a combined show to restrict the boundaries and also kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals as a 30 run partnership between Rovman Powell and Akeal Hosein was the only other substantial stand for the West Indies team.
Mitchell Starc (4/20) in 4 overs produced his best bowling effort in T20 internationals. Pat Cummins picked up a couple of wickets with Cameron Green and Adam Zampa chipping in with a wicket each. Hazlewood was tremendous with the ball bowling an impeccable line and length restricting the scoring rate by conceding just 19 runs.
