That is all we have from the commentary box today. The four playoffs spots have been finalised. Till the next time, it's ta-ta and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentators Karthik Raj, Akshaya Krishna Polya along with our scorer/ statistician Paras Yadav.
Jasprit Bumrah | Man of the Match: "Nothing special. Just trying to have fun and enjoy my bowling. Very happy with the way the last game has gone. Usually, the wicket is fast here. The bounce was less today and there was dip. We analysed that early. All of that assessment was made on the ground. Basically, helping out the youngsters. When you are coming up the ranks you have to learn a lot. At the heat of the moment there is a lot of noise and there own expectations. We try to talk and try and give them the best atmosphere. Ofcourse there is a lot of eyes that keeps on. Improving is a gradual process. Everyone will be in touch as how everyone is performing. We would have liked to finish at the top 4 but we will try to come back stronger next year. Absolutely nothing was there in my head. I was very happy with my rhythm and execution. If I am executing right that is all I can do. Even I get wickets on bad balls. I will accept that if I am executing my plans."
Rohit Sharma | Mumbai Indians Skipper: "I said it at the toss that we were here to win the game. A couple of teams were watching but we had to make full use of what we wanted to take away from this game and try to correct the mistakes we have committed in this tournament. It is never easy to lose games like the way we did. I thought we did pretty much well in the second half of the tournament. A lot of positives came out and we can take a lot of pride. When they got to 160 I was a bit nervous as it wasn't a 160 track. It was a slowish kind of a pitch. It wasn't coming onto the bat. When you restrict the opposition to 150 160, it's about a one partnership. Brevis and Ishan Kishan capitalised after a bad start. To be honest, there are lot of things. I have been talking about it constantly. It's the collective performance which gets you through which was missing. Some of the days when the bowlers were bowling well, the batters were faltering and vice versa. You have to perform in all three departments. We came to the party in the 2nd half. Yes a bit too late but still some positives. Yes I think. Every time we go into the auction, we always keep an eye on players who will play for. couple of cycles. We take pride in that. We try to take such youngsters who can go onto represent their country. Congratulations to RCB on qualifying. Just like to wish them the best for the qualifier and the eliminator. May the best team wins. It's disappointing for us but glad we finished off well."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Deep Dasgupta.

Arya- Delhi Capitals had fate in their hands but just couldn’t get over the line. It was a whirlwind knock from Tim David which provided the late impetus and made the equation a gettable one from a very difficult situation. The target of 160 was a par score to be honest and MI needed to bat well to chase the target down. It was an exceptional start with the new ball from Khaleel Ahmed as he made Rohit Sharma look clueless in front of a masterclass of swing bowling. He failed to put bat to ball each and every time he bowled in his 2nd over.

Ishan Kishan started off well with two boundaries but like Rohit Sharma, he also struggled for timing a bit. Rohit Sharma’s struggles ended when he chipped on half-volley of Anrich Nortje straight to the mid-on fielder. Dewald Brevis came out in the middle to join Ishan Kishan and the duo struggled for a bit before taking on Kuldeep Yadav in the 9th over. They upped the ante with their strokeplay. Brevis was dropped by Rishabh Pant but he couldn’t quite capitalise on that dropped chance.

Ishan Kishan was dismissed in a crucial juncture of the match of the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. The situation became tougher and tougher as dot balls piled up. Brevis was eventually dismissed in a quest for quick runs. Tim David came out at the fall of Brevis’ wicket and he survived a close shave on the very first delivery. He nicked the good-length away swinger straight to Rishabh Pant but to everyone’s utter dismay, Pant didn’t take the review.

It went onto cost them the match in the end as Tim David pelted the DC bowlers all around the parking, smoking 34 of just 11 deliveries to get the equation down to 15 of 14 deliveries. He didn’t time quite a few but still his power took it over the fence. When he was eventually dismissed, MI was within touching distance of the target. Tilak Verma was also dismissed in the penultimate over but with only 5 needed of the last over, it was n easy task for MI. Eventually Ramandeep struck a boundary to finish off MI’s campaign with a victory.

Earlier in the day it was an exceptional start from the MI bowlers as they reduced DC to 31/3. Daniel Sams bagged the wicket of David Warner and it was followed by a magnificent spell from Jasprit Bumrah. He nicked off Mitchell Marsh with a beautiful outswinger before bouncing out Prithvi Shaw with an incredible bouncer. Rishabh Pant batted sensibly but lost another partner in the form of Sarfaraz Khan.

Pant batted well and in the company of Rovman Powell, DC started storming back into this game. Powell batted superbly and smashed 4 sixes during his knock of 43. Jasprit Bumrah came back to castle Rovman Powell which eventually made a difference of at least 10-15 runs. In the end, Axar Patel struck some lusty blows in the last few overs to get DC to a respectable total of 159 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Rishabh Pant | Delhi Capitals Captain: "We were not good enough to win the match. It's not about the pressure but we could have done better execution and better planning. Have to learn and come back as a better team next year. We were 5-7 runs short. Bowled pretty well but dew came in and we missed our execution. The only thing we were discussing was that we wanted the bowlers to keep it simple."
Tim David: "It is nice to finish with the win. A big and satisfying win. Yeah, Ishan said to me the wickets are falling off here. We need to bat positively to chase this. Yeah, there was a couple of Baby AB sixes. And I too got away with a couple more. Yeah, it's been tough. In the last six games we have won four. We have comeback well after our initial losses. Happy to end the season on a high. I was not sure about the edge but I heard a sound. Thought it was off the pads. Then didn't review and I carried on without thinking much. Today morning Faf texted me with a picture involving him, Maxi and Virat wearing Mumbai jerseys. So it was clear that they were supporting us. I will post it later on the Instagram (haha)."
Arya- A brilliant run-chase from the Mumbai Indians as they knock out Delhi Capitals and helps RCB enter the playoffs. Remember what happened in 2018? It was Delhi Capitals who knocked Mumbai Indians out of the tournament and the Blue Brigade settles the scores. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be jumping with joy as they make it to the playoffs and can start dreaming of their elusive IPL title one more time.
Akshaya: RCB qualifies for the playoffs!!!! Quest for a title will still be a dream for DC!! What a game!! All the RCBians have a big owing to Mumbai Indians!!
19.1 K Ahmed to R Singh
4 And that takes RCB to the playoffs. DC are knocked out and all of RCB will be jumping with joy. Disappointment for the Delhi Capitals who had their destiny in their own hands. A low full toss on that occasion, Ramandeep Singh swings across the line and ends up getting a toppish edge which flies over backward point and short third man and off to the boundary ropes.
Karthik: Oh! Damn! Beamer from Khaleel at the worst possible time. Free hit coming up! The match could end right-away
19.1 K Ahmed to R Singh
NB That is a full toss above the head of Ramandeep. Slips out of Khaleel's hand and it will be a free hit.Khaleel Ahmed apologise straightaway.
Akshaya: Last over! Five needed! Khaleel Ahmed to bowl it. Will it be RCB or DC ? Who will qualify?

18.5 A Nortje to T Varma
W Tilak Varma has nicked that straight to the keeper. However this should be easy for the Mumbai Indians from here on. Just 5 needed of 7 deliveries. Back of a length delivery on the stumps, Tilak Varma tries to open the face of the bat and run it down the deep third man region for a boundary. Was too close to cut and he ends up getting an outside edge which is safely taken by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. The umpire waited for a bit and then raises the finger.
Delhi Capitals fielders are giving it their everything here. A boundary check here! And the fielder has done well to save a run for his side.
