Earlier, Leicestershire scored 170 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. The visitors started innings with Lilley and Hill but lost both their openers but Lilley and Hill batted with a positive mind frame as they hit 46 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the powerplay. Lilley got a decent start but they fail to convert into a good score, he departs at 23. Lewis Hill too got a decent start today in the first innings as he got bundled to Mullaney at 39. After that, no one will be settled in the middle. The partnerships were not big today, but at last 2-3 over tailenders played well. Ben Mike of 29 runs in just 12 balls was important at the end as that helped the visitors to get towards 170. From the home side, Samit Patel looked good and picked up the wicket of Lilley and Swindells. Mullaney looked bright too as he took some important wickets today of Ackermann and Hill.
