New Zealand will enjoy their win over the weekend and South Africa would want to get back to their rooms as quickly as possible and hopefully regroup and come back stronger in the next one. That's it from us, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off along with my co-commentators Ninaad and Anuridh Modi. Hope you enjoyed the coverage.

Do join us for the next one.

Matt Henry, Man of the Match: It's pretty special to come here and for us all to have a performance like that is brilliant. It's a great occasion and fantastic to get a win like that. It was important that we kept them playing [as often as possible]. We created pressure from both ends for a long period and I was the one that got the rewards. I'm pretty pleased with how we went. Speed is something I've been working on for a while and it just seems to be when I get my rhythm right I operate best. It was good fun [with the bat] to take it as deep as we could and put them under the pump. I think that was my first time batting [No.] 11 and I don't mind it. It's a great feeling to get this first Test win."

Tom Latham: "Its a fantastic performance. Winning the toss was a big part of it. It's probably the perfect performance. We are used to these conditions. We put their bowlers under pressure and scored at 4 an over. And we kept putting partnerships together. Matt Henry hasn't played a lot of Test cricket [but he] put the ball in the same area for long periods to get the results. We know how good South Africa are. We expect them to be at their best next game. Our focus is coming out and winning the next Test match."
Dean Elgar: "A lot went wrong. Not a lot went right. A bit of a self-reflection may not be a bad idea. We have some unplanned days off to do that. We should be a hell of a lot more competitive."
Tim Southee: "When you play for a long time the milestones doesn't matter but it is a special moment. It's a special victory, we haven't had a lot of success against them they are a very good side, it was a special performance from the team."
Tim Southee becomes the highest wicket-taker in New Zealand for New Zealand in Tests!
Matt Henry is the Player of the Match

Ovaise: New Zealand were right on top from the very first day, South Africa had a terrible start to the test losing lots of wickets at regular intervals, there was no partnership as such by the South Africans. Matt Henry cleaned up the South African batting order by taking 7 wickets, He was just unplayable and South Africans had no plans against him. Hamza scored 25 which was the highest score in a poor display of batting by the proteas. Southee, Wagner and Jamison got a wicket each. South Africa were bowled out for 95.

New Zealand lost both their openers Tom Latham and Will Young early, they were 2 down for 36. Henry Nicolls and Devon Conway stitched up a very good partnership taking New Zealand past the 100 mark.

Day 2 was dominated by the New Zealand batters, they piled up 482 before getting all out, Henry Nicolls got a brilliant 105 of 163 balls, Tom Blundell fell short of his 100 getting out to a brilliant delivery from Jansen after making  96. Contributions were seen from Wanger who got 49 and Matt Henry towards the end who managed to get 58 runs.

South Africa came out to bat in the 2nd innings but not much had changed from what happened in the 1st innings, They lost 3 wickets very quickly before the close of play on day two.

Start of day 3 and it was the same tale, they lost a wicket in the very first over, Van der Dussen got bowled to a peach from Henry. The South African embarrassment down under continued in the worst possible fashion. Another batting order collapse sees South Africa reeling at and on the brink of defeat. The Proteas looked down the barrel on a big defeat and there was nothing they could do to change it.  Skipper Bavuma showed some resistance scoring 41 but he too couldn’t handle the swing from the New Zealand bowlers and got trapped leg before wicket to an in dipper from Wagner. New Zealand cleaned up the tail very quickly and wrapped things up before Lunch. Dominating performance by the Black Caps. Tim Southee becomes the highest wicket-taker in New Zealand for New Zealand in Tests!! New Zealand have won the test match by an innings and 276 runs.

South Africa would want to get back to their rooms as quickly as possible and hopefully re-group and come back stronger in the next one.

41.4 T Southee to G Stuurman
W Loud appeal but it has been turned down by the umpire, the review has been taken! Slightly back of a length pitched on the off stump and angled in with the arm. Stuurman is stuck in his crease and fails to get bat on ball as it hits him high on the pads. The ball hits him in front of the leg stump but might go down leg as the ball came in sharply and had good bounce as well. But no! Three reds on ball tracking and the decision has been overturned! New Zealand win by an innings and 276 runs inside seven sessions!!
