Match Details
The WBBL caravan rolls on with two more exciting games tomorrow. Meanwhile, there’s lot of cricket going around the globe. South Africa vs West Indies starts in just about an hour’s time. Do join us for that game and of course for the WBBL, when it returns tomorrow. Till then, it’s me Tushar Garg, along with my co-commentators Ajay Ahire and Rohit Yadav bidding goodbye for now. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
Earlier, the Hurricanes Women had put on a fighting 132. Ruth Johnston and Richa Ghosh had stitched an important partnership to rebuild the innings after a disastrous start. Sipper and Jonassen were the key performers for the Heat, with both claiming three wickets a piece and putting brakes on the scoring rate. Strano and Vlaeminck played useful hands coming down the order to give their team some chance in the game.
Brisbane Heat bring up the third win of their campaign and stay on top of the table. This has been a complete dominant performance with the bat and ball from the Heat Women. They started brilliantly with the ball, reducing the opponents to 15/4. And then produced a clinical performance with the bat to chase the target down, Grace Harris carried her bat through the innings and played a masterful innings of 57*. There could have been some jitters after Nicola Carey rolled over her golden arm to strike twice in an over. But that was not to be. Mikayla Hinkley joined forces with Harris in the middle, and both guided Heat to a rather comfortable win in the end with an unbeaten partnership of 86.
